I'm trying to decide whether or not to attend the AMA/MGP races this coming July, and trying to figure out which ticket package will make the most sense. I know there's a number of BadWebbers who have camped at the top of the corkscrew, and am interested in that, but am confused by the Laguna Seca website. Any help would be appreciated.

I am sure the guys at the Buell compound would welcome you. A lot of folks camp there.

I normally buy a Saturday and Sunday ticket, along with a pit pass. The stands at turn 11 are pretty good. They are directly across from the pits, with a big screen tv to follow the bikes all around the track.

Parking. by far, easier to go to the bus parking lot and let the bus bring you to the track and away from the track. Air conditioned, big seats, no traffic, and easy to exit one the event is over.

We have had rooms reserved at the motel 6 for the last several years. around 100 bucks a night for a room, which is about the best I have found. a block from the beach, close to the parking lot, and right on reservation road.

My opinion...REX

Shoot Al a note. Normally EBear does the logistics but he's doing his moto-photo-travel this year and may not have the time to help setting up the Love Shack and reservations.

Realize that camping on the hill is going to be noisy. It's party time for half the people there (NOT the Love-Shack, but the general population) - so you can't expect to get to sleep until after midnight.

IF you aren't camping with Love Shack, you'll need motorcycle parking, you really SHOULD get granstand seats if you are truly interested in seeing a race, get seats close to one of the Jumbotrons. That will give you a great view of the entire race.

Also, get paddock passes so you CAN go into the pits. Definitely worth it. NOTE: this is JUST for the AMA pits, NOT the MotoGP pits!!!
