This is slightly worng, although the negine in this particular bike may have begun life as a GT380 the original 3 cylinder Barton was built from a TR500 Suzuki Twin with an extra cylinder grafted onto the side. This was done at around the same time as others were playing with TZ Yamaha twins and turning them into 3 cylilnder race bikes (Ted broad was the most succesful UK builder if I remember correctly). Once Yamaha introduced their own multi cylinder TZ500/700 bikes these 'home built' specials were made pretty redundant unfortunately : (

Barton later went on to build his own square four cylinder 2 stroke for the Sparton project (Barton engine/Spondon frame), which of course is where the Erik Buell connection comes in : )

The Seeley frame kits from the very early '70s as very popular with UK racers at the time and were bought as a complete rolling chassis ready for your donor Jap motor (most succesful in the Yamsel of John Cooper).
