im not sure if this questions ever been asked...i have cat composit and buell race fairings....and they both look great..but when it comes to racing do the make a difference? full fairing or stock on a 1225r...we ran it 3 different ways..we felt no difference..

A full race fairing will give better aerodynamics at faster tracks, but you may not notice the difference from a rider perspective. Only the stop watch will tell you the difference. It would enable you to slipstream (draft) better too and again you would only notice this in company with other bikes and not tested in isolation.

If you race on short circuits with limited straights then the benefits will be far less and a plain top fairing and bellypan may be just as good.

One other thing that a full fairing gives is some small measure of protection to frame/engine as well, so take that as a consideration to. The fairing may get wrecked in a crash but will protect underlying components quite well in addition to being cheaper to replace than the stock fairing.

we ran full.... decided to take it off...haven't noticed a difference...kept scraping it.... i guess when we start picking up our pace we will go back to full...for the time being no big difference

Cool thing about the stock XB bodywork, it can go through tech without having to remove any body work... including the belly pan!
