10.5 stock? Wow, that is very quick, just how much do you weigh? Ah heck, I never claimed to be very quick or fast, if I'm lucky I'll be consistent!

I have improved though, from a best of 12.29 bone stock to a best of 11.28 with pipe and ECM.

More to come...

I have not strapped the front yet, I of course launch in first gear. I launch at about 3500 to 4500 rpm, I think my best times are at a bit over 4000, if I launch below 3500, it tends to bog too much and hurt 60ft times, or stall the motor, which really hurts 60 ft times! ; ) I wanted to run it a few times and get my engine dialed in where I like, before I strap the front, so I don't have that variable interfering with my "tuning".

I will strap the front after we try richening the WOT in my race ecm.

I want to have as true a comparison to my previous times as possible, and when we get it dialed in close, then I will try strapping and see if I can improve on my best of 1.8xx 60 ft time.

I wil also run an 'inner airbox removed' series of passes to see if that will help, I also think my FMF needs to be repacked, so I am not sure, maybe next week or the week after I will get to the track again.

I just got back from flying to Texas and hauling a XB12SS back from Las Cruces NM, now that was a long drive! I was out of town for the drags this week.

I run about stock pressures, maybe 38 rear, 35 front, I am running pilot powers, and I shift at about 10,000rpm, if I short shift it loses a little mph, although I shift into 2nd 9500, approximately.

I asked this in the 1125 section but will ask it here also.

Littlebutquick or any of you guys drag racing did you lower your bikes at all?

Are any of you running a strut in place of the shock or are you still running on stock suspension?

What are you running for a front strap with the single caliper? Is there a Buell specific front strap (Any pics)?

Congrats on some impressive times guys! I was interested in taking mine to the local drag strip, was just wondering how rough these launches are on the clutch. Seems like whenever I read a magazine bike comparison they smoke a clutch on one bike at the drag strip.

On Sunday, using my 1125CR (With Stage 1 Torque Hammer and ecm re-map) i did a 150 mile round trip to take part in round 2 of the 'Straightliners' drag race series at Elvington, near York (UK). (First time have used the bike for this).
I did three consistent runs, the best of which was 11.08 seconds at 126mph.
My 60 foot time was 1.82 seconds.
I had problems keeping the front wheel down in second and third gears!
And the clutch was used for each change.
It's a long way off Littlebutquick's times but was good enough on my first run to beat a nearly new Honda Fireblade.
In all it was a good day out - just need more practice!
Although i'm not bothered about mpg, for information, the bike returned 44mpg
overall for the day.
I look forwards to having another go and trying to improve my technique!

Dave

1999 those are nice 60 foots especially for first runs. i got in about 20 passes last year, and never broke under 2's in my 60's. Guess this season I better learn to get OFF the clutch a lot sooner. My best runs were high 10's at 130-135. Planning on strapping down in 2 weeks when our season starts, hope that helps a lot to keep it from wanting to stand up. need to find a nice stretch of road someplace very secluded (running a D&D) and just practice launching.

250 Hp?

I'd like to see that.

My Turbo Busa with low boost made 252 at the wheel. I don't see a Rotax doing that.

Now 150 Hp, yes that is reasonable. Hell even up into the 180's I could see with a ton of work.

Mike,

Pro Modified dragster engines are not street bike engines.

The Erik Buell Racing 1190RR road racer makes 185 RWHP. It's not beyond belief that a tear down dragster engine designed to run one quarter mile at a time could make 250 HP.

A dragster making 250Hp is without a doubt believable. I'd like to see a Rotax} making that kind of power. I'm not aware of any at this point in time (Not that I know all that is going on in the world).

I know Elton from efrracing.com personally. He said he talked to one guy about a 1125r and told him with a nos kit he cold make 210 rwhp. He said he made no claims of a rotax 250 hp motor.

Truth is usually what makes the most sense anyways....I could put 250 rwhp down with an 1125 motor...but it most likely wouldn't stay together for a whole pass...I still have a couple of progressive nitrous controllers laying around somewhere....and I can scare up about 50 pounds of nitrous..

Just saying ; )

the new Erik Buell Racing tune on my ECM, (which they were nice enough to put the latest tune on for free!!!) is worth a consistent 3 mph, as I am running 125mph now, and average ET has dropped, I am running consistent 11.3's with poor 60's of 2.0+, although I have still to beat my best ET of 11.2 with a good 60' of 1.8. Theoretically, if I can 60 1.8 or better, this should beat my old 11.2 run from 3 months ago.

Next time I will strap the front, hopefully knock a bunch off the ET.

It was consistent enough to get me another trophy!

Made it to the drags today, strapped the front and ran a best 10.85 at 127.46. Lots of wheelies and some bad shifting, but still managed to make it to, and redlight in, the final round. Still haven't broke under the 1.8 60' mark yet, got some technique to re-learn.

Really odd weather in Sonoma today, light tail wind to heavy head wind, temps went from high 70's to 50 deg.

Bike ran hardest with some heat in it, and seemed harder to ET once the temp dropped.

Could have been operator error...
