Geoff was up to 8th for a short time, making away around the Jordan Suzuki with Brett McCormick. That was exciting for this Buell fan. I saw that battle 8,9,10 positions (best of the race) on the big screen and knew the 99 was getting some air time. Sweet!

I THOUGHT I saw Geoff pass McCormick on the outside of turn 2--but I was way over on Turn 10, so i could easily be mistaken.

Amazing the Buell is doing so well being down 20-30 HP...

Good solid finish. It mentions on Erik Buell Racing's Facebook page that the competition was much tougher in this race, so the 10th place finish this weekend probably is better than the 9th finish last weekend.

The result is excellent. They are beating all the pure private teams and are competitive with the guys who are getting some serious sponsor support.

Even tough DMG has made great strides in leveling the playing field the folks with the most money and factory connections are still faster than everyone else.

The results so far clearly demonstrate that the 1190 can run with anyone. If Erik Buell Racing can come up with a real sponsor (someone other than Erik's retirement savings; ) these bike could run at the front.

Right now, I think you can make the case that this is a real bargain race bike; competitive right out of the crate with GSXR's that have had some serious money dropped on them.

It would be interesting to see the budgets for some of the guys who finished behind the Erik Buell Racing bike.

There's another "attribute" I've noticed regarding the R and RR on the track.

It was noticeable with Shawn in DSB last year. When I looked at the lap times, I noticed that his held steady and even improved as the race wore on. Shawn would often find himself in about 20th after the first lap and gain several positions as the race went on.

I attributed that to Shawn and not the bike - until now.

Geoff does the same thing. The first few laps at a certain pace and holds that pace throughout the race, resulting in gaining positions toward the end (other racers/machines increase lap time due to fatigue/tires going away).

Is there something unique about a Buell that allows the rider to maintain consistent lap times?

Great Job to all the riders on the 1125's. It just keeps getting better and better!

May rides the 1125RR. Speculation is if the 1190 was allowed into AMA Superbike it would be fighting for podium positions.

Correct! And it is even more impressive. The Duc is 1198 I believe.

i believe the 1198 is 1199cc
and a ducati corse 1198 is not the same as the ducati 1198 road bike,
go Erik Buell Racing,i would love to see a 1190 rider on the podium, preferably top spot : )

Is there something unique about a Buell that allows the rider to maintain consistent lap times?"

Maybe they're easier on tires? Or less change in handling from full tank to empty tank?
