Steve Rapp was racing a Buell 1125R today at Fontana ,and I noticed the bike was #54 ,and the Latus Buell team used that # in the AMA DSB class last year.

If you look at the mylaps report Rapp road #54 in Formula 1, and James Randolph road #54 in HWT. Are these the same bike? Makes me wander if they were having try-outs today. I should of been there!!!

They were not on the same bike Rapp was on a Buell 1125R ,and Randolph was on a KTM RC8R. http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=3 9089

Is there anything BadWeb can do to make sure Shawn is on a Buell for Daytona?

Not sure if we could pull it together for him at Daytona. I am sure ANY contributions would be appreciated - but break-even costs are going to be about $10K - IF nothing "unplanned" happens.

We've got til March. Don't know if we can go any farther without custodial "blessing"

As sad as I am to hear Shawn will likely be on a non-Buell bike (cept for maybe Daytona), I am happy to hear he will still be racing!

Good luck Shawn!!

It's sad to see all the AMA guys who were gravitating towards, going different directions now. Totally understandable, however still very sad to think "what if."

Shawn said yesterday that he's still hoping to be able to take the Bartels 1125R to Daytona. Don't know if any of us can support that in happening. Heck, maybe some fundraising? Problem is that I don't know if they have enough spares to make it but it sure would be cool if he could do it on the 1125R and not on the R6

Speaking of the R6, Shawn is DOMINATING on that bike this weekend at Willow!

Even the race in which he came 2nd, he was turning faster times (by 0.01 sec) than the winner - but his starting position had him starting DFL and he never could pull around Carl Lowery (the eventual winner)
