What is the torque values for the axle and the rear sprocket fasteners? Thanks. | ||

Some of the spacers in the wheels for those swingarms were slightly to short, so if you tighten them down too much it will bind. It does not have to be super tight, just tighten it and spin the rear wheel at the same time to make sure it will not bind, and if it does start to bind then just back it off slightly. It will not back out while you are riding due to the fact that it tightens down the same direction that the rear wheel spins. | ||

That doesn't make sense to me. What is binding? The wheel is touching the swingarm? If the spacers are that short, get proper spacers. If you don't torque the axle down, it will be relying on the chain adjuster bolts to hold it in place in the swingarm. I don't think those adjuster bolts are designed for that kind of duty. I could be wrong. | ||

The bearings bind if you tighten it too much, I never said not to tighten the axle I just said don't tighten it too much. That setup has a spacer that goes inside the wheel just like the stock setup and then you have captive spacers on the outside that stick into the bearings if you tighten the axle down to much it will put to much pressure on the spacers which in turn put too much pressure on the bearings I have seen several sets of bearings fail on the race track this season due to this fact. | ||

found out if you don't get the bearings seated fully it will cause it to bind ,also so the bearing go in on primary side 1st then the spacer then the other bearing, had the same problem on the 1st wheel i did | ||

I just know at daytona in the beginning of the year we talked to some of the mechanics with the geico team and they said the same thing "don't tighten it too much" I guess they didn't know what they were talking about? |
