There 3 parts of a 4 part interview up with Edmondson. It is an excellant interview and really talks about what he see MC raing being in the US and how they are moving toward it.

He has raised my excitment level about the whole program. I think they have a good chance to lift MC racing to an unheard of level in the US.

That they do. I wish more folks would try to see the good instead of ONLY focusing on the "bad".

&, Hoooo Mama !! - there's LOTS to pick on DMG about......

it's also way cool to see Buell [& likely other mfgs in 2010] actively competing in both classes

I'm thankful for the RR & its parts for a variety of reasons -
especially since the "600" class which Danny is terrorizing may well be temporary

And if you look at our calendar across the country, we don’t have anything in Texas. We should.

Thank you Mr. Edmondson!

great article and it makes so much sence.I would add that the cost of the bike as he said it should be no more then 30K but not less then 28K.
the reason is if you don't place a min then the japps will build the bikes for 15k since they have cheap labor, cheap cost for parts and NO UNIONS(like the ones that destroyed GM).

But they only want their own factory riders/teams to have the best parts. It's why they fought so hard against the new format.

You know there has always been a claiming rule BUT the Erion Honda that was claimed by (forgot who) about 5 years ago had so many specialized parts that the racer couldn't keep it running... and Kevin Erion was under NO obligation to supply specialized parts.

Heck - institute a $40K claiming rule for the whole bike - and have similar component breakdowns for engine, induction, suspension, etc.

Requiring all parts to be homologated and made available and fully supported is much better, no?

I DO think that part-homologation WILL WORK better in the long run... but I've always been a fan of the claiming rule as a way to keep costs in check. Problem just a year ago with claiming a Yosh Superbike or Erion - was that you could NOT replace anything on the bike since the components were all custom.
