I sure as hell hope we aren't subjected to another year of the Suzuki Cup...

Superpole Results:

1. Mladin 1:37.499
2. Hayden 1:38.345
3. Pegram 1:38.455 (1098)
4. Hodgson 1:38.479 (CBR)
5. Young 1:39.633
6. Yates 1:39.791
7. Hayes 1:40.117 (R1)
8. Lavert 1:40.221
9. May 1:40.888
10. Bostrom 1:41.043 (R1)

I hope the race provides more interesting results than six Suzukis in the top ten.

how can Suzuki NOT be filling lotsa top slots?

if you compare 3 Rockstars + 1 [or 2] M4s + 1 [or 2] Jordans + 1 [or 2] RRWs.........

vs.

1 [for now] competitive Honda

1 [or 2] [for now] competitive Yamahas

1 [or 2] likely ever competitive Kawasakis

what else could happen?

Geez- for the first time ever I found myself pulling for a Honda... but Hodgson had to settle for second. Does anyone know what happened to Higbee?

Yeah, but why? He had posted some great times going into the race- I'm curious what happened.

Shawn qualified 32nd.

I don't think Shawn was expecting a ton out of a pretty stock 1125 against 190+HP 1000/4's.

So, finishing better than he qualified is pretty good, do you think?

I think a 25th finish is a GREAT starting point against the kind of competition that runs in that class.

Shawn hints on his blog that he's got some improvements planned but didn't have time to get them implemented before Daytona.

When he starts getting those improvements in place and they start running on tighter tracks, this could get interesting!

Yeah - far as any of us knows, he's running a nearly stock bike in the Superbike class (even with Superbike's "superstock" kinda specs, the litrebikes can still hit 170HP)

Shawn had his WORK cut out for him.

Not sure what the rules are for those classes Steve, but we just did a new R-1 and a ZX-10, both with full system and PC3. Both dynoed at 190+ HP when they left.

There are some engine modifications allowed for stronger pistons, stronger, faster valves etc.

The good news for Shawn is he can make some of those changes (if he has the money and ability). . . the bad news is I suspect the competition probably has those parts on the shelf and race tested and they're probably putting down power well north of 200.

Cool new update on his Daytona efforts:
