... the quest towards the 2009 Racing Season!! After a busy day at work, I was on my way to the track. About 20 minutes down the road I realized I forgot my power strip. I decide I can do without it for this trip. Onward I push, only to realize the heater in my van doesn't work!

I arrive at the track around 9pm to tempatures in the high 30s. Set up the pit, have a beer with fellow Buell rider John and off to bed it is. Climb into the fleece sleeping bag, which was inside of the bigger sleeping bag, which was on the air mattress. Warm? Fo now!! As I lay there, I decide to make sure the front window open a bit. As I get out of my sleeping bag, I hear the sound of air rapidly leaving my inflatable mattress, and not through any of the manufature's installed outlets!!!

I should note, the floor of the van is not comfortable, even with the paper thin pad, vinyl floor, delfated air mattress, and sleeping bag... By the morning, the cold has seeped into my sleeping bag and a hard freeze had taken place outside my van!!! I then remember the electic heater I have out the house, but didn't think to pack!!! A hot shower was the order of the morning!!

Race School went great. No problems or isues. My lap times continue to improve. Pictures show that I am doing good with my body position. LOTS of practice passing throughout the day. When not mixing it up with John, I believe I was only passed by one other rider!

Next up, more track day practice and applying for my WERA License!!

Most excellent! Sounds exactly like the right path to racing. Many van floor nights in my past!

Remember the power strip, bring the heater, buy an "egg crate" foam pad to sleep on, and skip the beer.

Nice pic.

Ha big fat +1. A drink the night before is nothing t worry about. Maybe it makes the hard floor of the van a bit less of problem. You go boy!}

awesome post.
cant wait till the season starts to see what a mess we get into. (go team paintshaker) or what ever name you finally came up with.

i'm getting better (bum leg ankle work accident) i'll be able to help out better,faster,and ect. if you need any help on anything. i cleaned the garage and put all wrenches and sockets in there right places.

i will build you that rear hanger stand. as the proto type shows it will work the production piece will change design for portability and not wobble. heheh

you get it no cost. painted too in buell RACING colors.

also the new race pipe your getting you want it coated with a ceramic paint. i have extra here.

see you at the track. we will retune the bike to the new pipe. its going to push the lap time down i know it.
MIGHT EAT TIRES MORE SORRY!!
