I tried the search function, but I didn't come up with anything.

I'm looking for information about quickshifters for an XB road racer. Joel, I know you had one, but I never looked to see what kind it was.

Honestly, I have stayed away from them a bit because of some reliability issues that I've seen, but I could use some straight line help on the XB. LOL! I'll take those fractions if it seems like it might help.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

Super Dave

I know Hal's sells one; not sure how much adapting you'd have to do with a Powercommander quick shifter. I do know the Hals is a "plug and play."

You'll have to search Hal's site... the silly 'net security here at work blocks Hals but not Badweb or I'd post the link for the shifter... go figure.

The new Buell race ECM already has the function in it. You just need to buy the sensor from DynoJet and run the wires.

Hey Dave! I didn't know you were on here. If you need anything for your build, give me a call or email me.

Oooo! Anything? A big bag of cash would help...LOL!

I think I've been a lurker for about a year. Now, I'm not just an owner, I'm also a client (paste up a bald guy pic) LOL!

Dave,

I have one from Hal's. Does not work real well with the XB. Half way through this season I shut it off and have not used it since.

Hey Dave, I tried the quick shift as well on an XBRR and didn't have much luck with it, but that was my first experience with a quick shift and the RR was scaring the beejeezuz out of me at the same time, so it wasn't a good combo...somebody that is used to using one may have better luck.

Bring your XB down to Union Grove for the Harley Shootout next spring! Definitely a valuable way of figuring out how to go fast in a straight line...

Great to see you on a Buell!

Wes

Wes! What's up!

Missed your birthday party. Must have been fun. Were you surprised?

Drag racing always hurts me. I end up having strained legs and arms from all the pulling.

Super Dave Rosno!

Going good here...birthday was huge surprise. Didn't see that coming at all. Strange though, seems like I went straight from 18 to 40. Definitely took a lot longer to recover from the effects of the party at 40 vs 18.

I hear you on the drag racing....I have the same problems road racing getting out of the gravel traps.

LOL!

Yeah, I'm not sure what happened either. Didn't I just start road racing a couple years ago? Nah, just not that easy.

I use a translogic power shifter on my street bike (out of necessity).

It does not come out of the box ready to go, you need to fabricate your own mount system.

It would work well for racing, it has either ignition or fuel interrupt to unload
the tranny for full throttle upshifts w/o the clutch at the touch of a button. The duration
of interrupt is programmable. The shifter uses a high speed linear actuator instead of
a solenoid or air cylinder so it has a lot of torque which ensures no missed shifts.

Of course the system costs more than the simple solenoids do, but it comes with a more
sophisticated control system and it is stone reliable. The only issues I've ever had with
it were purely operator induced errors.

If you want more info feel free to contact me (I am not a vendor, reseller, etc. just a
customer of theirs) since the company is in the UK and it can be tricky to coordinate
contact times with them, and they had nothing other than superficial knowledge of Buells
when I contacted them before purchasing my system.
