Matt, you're making the same mistake that many others have. I never said anything about Henry Duga personally. It's the idea that I would not be worthy of race status when my 1125 is not street legal, I bought it for track use, and have spent a lot of money (although not with you yet cause you haven't posted the details and availability on those great looking rearsets) on outfitting the bike for racing. Henry is fine fellow. He has always been helpful to a point. That point is the race ECM. |

The POINT is that there is a well established procedure that requires you work THROUGH YOUR DEALER.
It's spelled out rather clearly.
Quit your whining, go read and follow it.

Dude, where did I ever say that I wasn't going through my dealer?
I did not just call Henry. This is an ongoing process that started with my dealer.
Before you start flaming people you should get your facts straight. And, I'm not whining. I asked for advice. It's so frustrating to address issues when people like you distort the facts and falsely label you. |

"Testing" for an aftermarket vendor is not sufficient basis for obtaining race parts. Buell has another procedure for getting parts to bonafide aftermarket developers. You need to decide if you are a TESTER or a RACER and proceed accordingly.

While all that is fun reading, it's totally unrelated to the topic at hand. Spending more doesn't circumvent the qualification process.

Sorry you misunderstand me. I wasn't trying to suggest that you were in any way maligning Henry, but only to outline our experience that whilst Henry is a 100% 'diamond geezer' and extremely helpful and knowledgeable, that expertise doesn't trickle down far enough to dealers or national distributors when it comes to ordering race parts. In late 2008 it should not be the norm to have to call just one guy at the factory in order to get hold of race parts (regardless of manufacturer) and these parts should be readily available from any dealer. if you have to present a valid race licence so be it, but they should still be obtainable without having to pester the factory directly.
Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki all have thousands of race parts available from hundreds of specialists worldwide, and it is certainly possible to create a Superbike spec IL4 without ever troubling the factory for race parts purely by buying aftermarket race items. As this isn't possible with the Buell 1125 yet, surely having parts available 'over the counter' through the dealer network rather then through the current, almost clandestine, ordering procedure would be a better option? If these parts are in short supply then at least people will be able to backorder them 
Surely if Buell want to help more people race their bikes they should make race parts readily available? |

Thanks Matt. Henry and his associate Jamie are working to help me with my racing needs. What else can I say. You're right. They're supportive and appreciated.

Just got the word that my license is acceptable to purchase an ECM.
I want to apologize for all the dramatics I started on this list. I am suitably embarrassed and remorseful. But I sure learned a lot about the people on this list and posting here.
