The 600 class was not as fun as I thought it would be. So get me started in the right direction by selling me your race prepped XB12R. I will keep my eyes on the classified section but I thought I would start probing here since I would rather buy one that is race ready.

Call Ernie Snair at Glendale HD/Buell, tell him you heard from Slaughter that Dave Ortiz is selling his CHERRY XB-12 racebike. Ernie has Ortiz' contact info.

Ortiz' buddy also has a 12 - don't know if it's for sale too or not.

Shipping is going to set you back $400-600 (he's in CA)

Hey Kent,
Did I talk with you the other day about this very subject? If so, I'm keeping my eyes open for something. I have talked to Dan Bilansky as well. I will let you know if we find something for you.

Slaughter-How's things goin'? I finally made it into a couple of races this year at Blackhawk. I didn't fall down and I didn't finish last. As a mater of fact I actually finished 3rd in the LTWF40 Amateur race. Not too bad for an 'ole' fart. Thanks for your words of encouragement this summer.

Yep that was me and I appreciate the information. I checked out the spec's on the bike Dan sold on Ebay and that would of been a nice bike to have.

Bud - glad you could get out and race!

We were going to have the bike ready for a track day today but they dyno committed suicide on Friday so it's Wed before I get on the dyno... barely in time for Inside Pass next Monday!

Heck, I would not have a second thought about buying an ex-Bilansky racer from Hals - besides, who better to help you with spares and goodies than the folks who developed the beast in the first place. I had picked up the Ex-Bilansky thunderbike for a buddy who raced it at Willow Springs. Got it on ebay too~!

Kent,

If you are going to be in CA on Willow weekend, you can have the bike brought out to look at it. Bartels is also a 20 min drive from LAX (well... depending on traffic)

Just so you guys remember, CCS LW classes are limited to 1210CC air cooled.

What Anony said is critical - the 1203 motor will let you into more classes than the RR motor - shame but it's the way the rules are written in many race organizations.

That being said there ARE some low-mileage XB12 racebikes out there for sale.

(Some of us are still "airheads" at heart)

I left a message for Ernie @ Bartels yesterday.
With the available HP stock in the Buells, it would be tough to go back for a FZR400/560 I road during my last LWT career. That XBRR would be cool, but limited for sure.
