I am heading to Maxton, finally this year. Changes for this trip are a full fairing and nitrous. I ran the fairing last year at Bonneville, but haven't ran it at Maxton yet.

The nitrous kit is a NX wet system with 2 nozzles. I plan on starting with a 20hp shot and adding to it if everything holds together. So I will run in APS-PG 1650 and APS-PF 1650. If there is time, I may pull the fairing off.

The fairing is a XR750TT fairing I bought off Ebay a few years ago. I don't know who made it, but AirTech sell the same thing. The tail section is AirTech. The front fender is a RR1000 replica that I am borrowing.

Very cool, keep us posted. If you do not have a fuel pressure safety switch get one, I went lean from fuel line pinch and torched a head in Australia. Not a good place to try and find parts.Good luck.

I do have a fuel pressure safety switch. Also have a cool NX pressure controlled bottle heater and electronic pressure gauge that I can see during a run.

Those are nice, had them too. Make sure you have enough volume--though you need less at Maxton than Bonneville. Did you get colder plugs, non extended tip type, and run tighter gap.Champion makes some nice racing plugs as does NGK.

Only got 1 run in today because of rain, but went 171.9 on that run. I wanted to try a few more things on gas, but with Saturday shot, I am just going to throw the nitrous at it tomorrow and see how fast it will go.

Just got home after a 19 hr drive straight home. Sunday I ran on the bottle. The first run, my goal was my 175 license pass. It ran right on 175. I hit the button in 3rd gear and it pulled hard. 4, 5,6 didn't really. I also missed the shift to 3rd.

So my second run I went to the 40hp jets and was ready to give it hell. I had a lot of trouble getting the bike started through...hum

This time I waited to hit the button until 4th gear and again it pulled hard at first. I shifted to 5th and it felt like I was out of NOS and when I shifted to 6th, the bike was slowing way down and sounded bad so I shut it off.

It wouldn't restart and a compression test back in the pits showed 0 psi on the front and a broken (not melted) spark plug electrode.

I probably won't get it torn down, but since there was no big smoke show, I don't think I burnt through the piston. I am speculating that when I missed the shift on run 2 I over reved it and bent a exhaust valve. This made it hard to start and then it gave up on the third run. That's just a guess for now though.

The positives - 2-1/2 runs and 2 records. 171.9 and 175.1. And I got my 175 license.

Negatives - $ per run was real high and I didn't really get to get a feel for NOS.

Now I have until April to think about it some more.

Ouch, sounds like it might have gone lean. Good luck, been there.

You just have to run in the same class we do don't ya? If you didn't I could help you with the nitrous issue.

Don't worry, I don't plan on running the NOS at Bonneville. I am just playing with it while I build a new bike.
