Long time member, long time no posts.
I have recently set up my "98" S3 for Drag Racing found a shift light that works good.
http://www.autometer.com/dpss/index.html
These come in three versions Purchased the Level 1 for just over $100.00 off of EBay.
I like it because it has recall and resettable max RPM, easily adjustable shift point (no Chip required) light intensity adjustable and RPM gauge all in one.
There are not a lot of shift lights out for our V-Twins but these will work.

These are the shift lights from Ecliptech. They have the advantage of showing you the lead up to the shift

AutoMeter does not promote this as a motorcycle shift light.
It is adjustable from .5 pulses to 6.
So should work on single cylinder through 12 cylinder. Mine is set on pps 1.
I looked at the Ecliptech, just to much lights going on for me. When drag racing I want that light and track only. Things just happen so fast, no extra distractions needed.
