It looks like I'm going to get wet on Saturday, the first race of the season for me. BUMMER!

I have a set of Corsa III to put on the bike but no $$ for a set of rains.
Any tips on keeping it on 2 wheels would be appreciated.

FYI track location is Nelson Legdes/Warren Ohio.

If you haven't got rain tyres then you will be at a massive disadvantage straight away I'm afraid : ( Modern wet weather tyres allow ridiculous angles of lean and enormous amounts of grip that street tyres just don't come close too. If it is just 'damp' i.e. no standing water, then the Corsa III is a pretty good option as an 'intermediate', although you will struggle to get any heat into them and should take it VERY easy for the first few laps.

If it is really raining heavily and there is lots of standing water then it may be much beter to adopt the 'discretion is the better part of valour' mentality and just don't go out.

If you do race in the rain then the the watchwords are always BE SMOOTH AND RELAX.
Don't grab handfuls of throttle or brake, don't bang down the gearbox and don't expect to try and get your knee down. Just ride as if on ice and you'll be surprised just how fast you can go, and how much better it makes you as a rider : )

Finally, don't look at racing in the rain as a chore. Relax and enjoy it. If you are smooth then you can make up places on bikes that have far more power than yours and that you wouldn't get near in the dry.

I see in your profile that you have a Ulysses. In a pinch, the stock Pirelli sincs or the Dunlops if its an 06 that come on that will be a descent rain tire for you at no extra cost. Better for sure than the corsa IIIs in the wet and already on wheels for ya.

As the others said be verrrrrrrrrry smoothe on the throttle and breaks. Also try to get all of your breaking done while the bike us up rite instead of trailbreaking to the apex like in you would in the dry. Only ask the tires to do one thing at a time. Go or stop or turn, the less combinations the better. Iv herd that you have something like 90% of dry breaking traction in the wet with the bike strait up.
