Just finished the XB up yesterday but unfortunately won't make Topeka. I'm really pumped to get out on the track with the 1125R faired XB, it should be an aero advantage to run down those Ducs and SV's.  I know, I know I forgot to put the bellypan on for the photo. | ||

Looks good gear! I've got the same thing planned. What wire harness are you running? I'm thinking I'll change over to an S harness to get the fuse / relay box off the fairing bracket and in the tail. Jason | ||

Thanks for your interest guys, The 1125R fairing bolts directly to the original bottom bolt holes of the XB12R fairing stay. The top is bolted to a pair of very simple 16ga. sheet steel brackets. I raised the height of the fairing with these brackets by 3/4" over the stock 1125 height to hopefully aid aerodynamics. After dismanteling my 1125R and removing the headlights, I used Reynolds Wrap to form a pattern around the them then applied three layers of fiberglass mat to make the female mold. I used that to lay up the headlight blanks. The foil left some veining since I couldn't completely remove the wrinkles but I'm using them anyway. They are held in place with 8-32 bolts held with two aluminum strips as washers. I'd like to build a smoother set of headlight blanks in the future but these should work great and were much less expensive than buying a set of actual 1125R headlights at around $400. per set! I'd paint bloodshot eyeballs on the veined headlight molds  So, you used the Firebolt fairing support? I'm thinking of trying an 1125 fairing, support, and lights on my Uly...but haven't had a chance to measure to see if the frame has the same bolt-hole spacing for the fairing support. Very cool look - can't wait to hear how it does for you! |
