Jim,
I like that idea! Eveyone bring their favorite local/regional brew. Always up for a new/good brew.
As far as the "weapon of choice", I'm pretty sure I'm bringing the M2. The S2 isn't as strong as the M2. It has about 29000 pretty hard miles on it.
It's a tough call. I really like the S2, but the M2 is my "first love". I owe Bluz the first shot at the 130 club.
I'll make the final decison soon, as soon as the M2 is out of the shop and after a shakedown ride.
The current issues with the M2 will be related in a separate thread when I get it back. Hopefully this week.

Lets get the beer thing going!!!

Brad

Great place to insert the "no beer in the Elves pits or at The Salt under the Elf banner". Trust me, we catch up in the evenings.

Court, should I try to bring some fresh fish for the Elves lunch? Not sure what will be available, but I could perhaps stuff some salmon or tuna in an ice chest. I got connections!

Paul:

Actually might be kinda cool...tuna or salmon both sound good. Be sure to load up on cooking utensils and BBQ type stuff as well if trailer room permits. I'll be posting a list of "needed stuff" to fill the Bread Truck void with our Elf turned Politician on the campaign trail.

We'll be shopping in Salt Lake City (Wendover is pretty much a beer and chips town) on the way and can pick up any "go with fish" goodies.

Aaron, et al

We just got back from SCTA Speedweek. There were some very unwelcome changes from the USFRA meet I was at last. The pits were at the end of the long course, about 5 miles from start line. CB would not reach pit area reliably. The worst was that now after your first record run they want to tear down and cc it that day. IF you want to keep running it you will need to reassemble and seal while still in impound area. Causes the expected headaches. Not everyone had to do this but damn near everyone in the serious category did. They were having a problem with their gas analyser also, in that it was temp sensitive. Took us two hours in impound to verify that the gas we had was theirs even tho they had five other samples with exactly the same problem. Kept the samples on the same shelf it tech trailer until they and the reference were at same temp. We ended up ok but the time lost in impound really cuts into racing effort.

Also you cannot move from modified to altered class at the same meet. We did have a blast anyway. Did not get the p-pp record away but the BuellBrotherrs got it back from the Guzzi folk.

Paul,SCTA had pits way far away last oct. They are not near as friendly as the USFRA guys have been to us.Hope that treatment continues.I will strive to NEVER do an SCTA event again.

You mean like this? At least the lines weren't 2 miles long, 3 wide and 1 run a day if you're lucky.

Court, give me some lead time on the tools to pack. I expect to bring a chase trailer, generator, and air compressor, plus misc. small tools.

Should be able to stuff in a barbeque.

We did some oysters during the Splah/Foreplay gig, but I never saw so many squeamish people, they were afraid of the oysters!

I'll bring the stuff if someone else will do the cooking/prep/serving etc. I want to concentrate on racing and winning!

I have a reservation at the team hotel (forgot the name) that I can pass on to anyone who wants it.

Contact me ASAP as I will plain cancel the reservation on Monday.

.

It’s a poor quick aerial I put together of Bonneville. Wendover (where we stay) is to the left of the picture. The red cone is where we actually leave the paved road and enter the salt. Depending on WHERE the officials setup the compound this year, it’s usually about a 3-mile drive on the salt to get there.

Sorry to hear about circumstances. You're missing a chance at seeing the "I ****** your boyfriend" shirt again :)
OTOH since I've just been fired I have plenty of time to make the trip. Go Me!

Paul; I know I can count on you for "beverage" consumption - make it in my honor if you need an excuse :) If it's a Fat Tyre, then it'd be great.

David; Dang - I liked that shirt. Shows a lot of attitude ;)

I'm really bummed that I can't go. It's just not a smart choice for me right now.

Damn Henrik,

A real live bummer that you aren't coming. Hope everything goes better

On a lighter note it's a good day,

I've got not only the bike done, but I've also finished the trailer, and with two weeks left before heading to Aaron's. Thought I would send a couple of pics along properly faired and ready to roll (I hope).

Ray; great looking bike. It'll be awesome to get to run it on the Salt. Best of luck out there.
