Halfway down the page linked below, Speed is doing a survey. It is heartening to see NA$CAR has half the votes as "other"

Which racing series are you looking forward to the most in 2008?

OK - I'm campaigning here: vote MOTO GP!

Done! Thanks for the "Heads Up!"

I've also notified my motorcycle club to do the same.

Dunno if it would make ANY difference but thought I'd try to spread the word... since it all ultimately depends on which races sell advertising for the highest dollar on SCREED TV.

'twould be way cool to see more 2-wheel coverage without all the "ghetto stuntaz"

One of the reasons I never know what is going on in MotoGP world-don't get to watch the racing. It seemed I could usually get some in during the beginning of the year last summer, did they drop it mid year, did I get busy, or did tires and ultimately TC cause me to yawn too much: ) I know, I know another thread, but I voted, as I too would like to see more than circle wheelies, backwards vests, drag specialties and bike week updates. Michelle ain't bad though...

We were discussing why NASCAR had so few votes and we came up with these reasons:

1) No internet access at the trailer park
2) The computer from Rent-A-Center didn't have a modem port
3) The mouse wheel only turns to the left

NA$CAR would have gotten more votes if they had changed the question:

What are you looking forward to most in 2008?
"NASCAR (and your sister wearing that hot new dress that she got for Chrissamus)"

It's a shame that Speed can't get more regional motorcycle racing coverage, like the CCS/ASRA Races. I mean, if they cover lawn tractor racing, there has to be something that can be done! A producer that can get backing to air these races. The MotoST coverage this year was great, and I'd love to see it expanded next year.

A little advice for ticket buyers. I LIVE in Speedway, IN. As a veteran race goer at the track (37 Indy 500s and 6 Brickyards, and all but one USGP race), ANY event at the track is about optimizing your field of view. The best seats will be in the Northwest Vista, followed by Stand J and H. NW Vista seats are a little further away from the actual surface of the course as it is within the oval. If close matters to you, get tickets in Stand H, or front straight ( Paddock seats ) although these will be pricey. This is where you will be able to see the most on the track. South East Vista (or anywhere in Turn 1 of the oval will also be good). The higher up you are the better, no matter where you sit on the track. One last thing, THERE ARE TONS OF SCALPERS! DON"T BE AFRAID TO COME IF YOU DON'T HAVE TICKETS!!! GOOD seats can be had even on the day of the race. For last years Indy race, I got 3 Paddock seats for the price of two on the the day of the race.
Now, a word of warning or two: THIS is an inaugural event, they always sell out inaugural events, but the scalpers will still have tickets. Scalpers are the guys with signs that say, "I NEED TICKETS". This is because you can be arrested if you are holding a sign that says "TICKETS FOR SALE", don't ask me about why, thats just the way it is. Another thing is COOLER rules: IMS wilL not let ANY cooler into the track that is larger that 16" in ANY dimension. So don't show up with your IGLOO coffin cooler and expect to get it in. THere are no exceptions!!!! I have seen MANY guys dumping big coolers over the years at the gate and hand carrying their beer into the track in their pockets. So do yourself a favor and bring the smaller coolers and everybody carries their own beer instead of doing it communally. Ok I'll climb down from my pit stand (or soap box) now.

See you guys at the race, lets all talk about getting together and meeting somewhere on Qualification day, My inlaws live 3 blocks from the track and theres ALWAYS a big party.

if they cover lawn tractor racing,

Remember that FOX owns SPEED...have you taken a good look at FOX programing lately? Besides, Rupert Murdock apparently likes lawn tractor racing...they ARE about his SPEED.
