Just like the title says, I'm looking to see some pics of how every one mounts their transponder. Got a XB9R and have seen a number of people mount it where the brake light would be. Thanks, Jason | ||

Sorry, I dont have a pic, but we mounted ours under the seat (Blast). Seat and tail are plastic, so there's no problems with reception and in the event of a crash, its fully protected! I dont know if thats possible with the XB, but thats what we did. | ||

drill 2 holes in top of the tail section. screw bracket on. or zip tie through those holes. here's a pic of my old bike and me D  | ||

XB transponder mounts very well to the fender liner. Access it right through the tail light hole. You can bolt the transponder tray right to the fender liner, get enough wiggle room to install/remove the transponder and put the retaining pin in place. You really should consider using a twist of safety wire on the transponder safety pin to prevent it backing out. It is rare, but has happened. All this assumes you're using the AMB transponder (most common) If you have a fiberglass tail piece, you can mount it very easily on top (see Dora's pic above). Can't do it if the tail is graphite - graphite will partially block the signal and you can be missed by scoring. Does your organization prohibit mounting on fork leg? Not a bad thing, much more accessible and moves it forward almost 4 feet. REally easy to rig up. Most orgs allow that but no farther forward than front axle. Yeah - you gotta check your rules. Out here, WSMC had it undefined so everybody started putting it on the fork legs - that 4 foot advantage MIGHT make a difference if you're dead-even crossing the line. | ||

Fork leg, definitely. Not only is it the first part to cross the line but the last part to get damaged in an accident, If you break your forks then the transponder is the least of your worries!). This is the standard place for fitment in the UK. | ||

Some classes (CCS) require you to mount it no further forward then the rear axle, so the tail mount would be good. LRRS (even though it is sanctioned by CCS) allows you to mount it no further forward then the front axle, so the fork tube mounting would be great. |
