Don't know if i should post there this here, but i thought it would be a good place to start. I'm looking for a digital shift light with programmable rpms for my M2 with a Dyna 2000i ignition, does anyone know which one would work?

Thanks in advance

I recently installed this one on my S3 and am pleased with the bang-for-the-buck! 3 wires - one to the tach, one to ground and one to a switched power source - that's it!
Great friendly service and fast shipping too!

Scott, i check them out, they look decent for the price. I may have to get one of those. Thank you for the information. I did find a MSD shift light but it is twice the price.

Thanks

Radon

Scott, i did get the raptor, but it seems to hang when shifting. Stays on in between gears when i shift quick. If i pause in between gears it seems to work ok. Did you notice that with yours?

Rich,
I have the MSD unit and it works fine. I just looked at what you said about the price. Man they jumped. I bought mine last year for $115. Good thing I didn't wait.
Never under estimate luck.

I have it set at 3500 for break-in right now. Planning on 6800-7000.

3500 ok, then maybe you can confirm that it is definitely on below 3500 rpms?
Since my original post, I have noticed what you pointed out at the track, but mainly the 1-2 shift. Things are happening quick, so I thought (think?) that by the time I see the light (6100 rpm) react, blip throttle and shift, that I have gained enough revs past the 6100 that I am either not below that rpm in 2nd or only below that rpm for a few milleseconds.....
Experiment (and so will I), maybe we need to go direct to the coil or maybe we need to see what the manufacturer says. I was in e-mail contact with them before the purchase and would be happy to contact them....

Scott, What ignition are you running?
I have been in contact with raptor, trying to work out some details.
I accelerate until light comes on, as soon as the light turns on i let off the throttle to decelerate and it takes a few secs before the light goes out, well below the 3500 rpms. According to Raptor the light should go out as soon as the rpm falls below the set rpm and i know that is not happening.

I have the stock ignition. I'll have to adjust mine down and see what happens (and contact raptor)

Scott, i connected my shift light directly to the coil, change to single cylinder and it works great!!!. Let me know what you found out.

Hey Radon - I looked at my wiring diagrams last night and there did not appear to be as convenient a way to go to the coils as I assumed or hoped for.
Is the M2 ign. coil more or less the same as FI bikes? Where/how did you tap in?
There is a 3 prong plug on the coil side and the ECM on the other side and I am not sure of the best way (one that will never cause me a problem) to connect to either of those choices.
thanks!

I have an aftermarket coil with three studs. I just connected to the one of negative studs and changed shift light to single cylinder since my ignition is set at single fire. I'm not sure what would the best way for you to connect yours.
