Hi Gang the Buell Thread has become stagnent on iomtt.com even if you don't post keep looking at it as this is the first day where the hits have not reached 100 over night. There was one night earlier in the week where it had 3,000 hits over night and about 50 return posts. I was at a Track Day locally yesterday and there were a few of the local TT Top runners and i spoke with them about me Racing the Buell and they all agreed that it would be a very sad day for the TT as an event if the Buells entry was turned down . They think very highly of me as a Rider and would much rather come across me in practice than a newcomer. Thank you all again for your ongoing support cheers Irish Ago..... don't forget support the Buell www.iomtt.com

Here's a nice pic of an XRTT at the Isle of Man:

Hope we soon have photos of a Buell airborne like that!

Hi Gang, I've been going through my history at the TT over the past 10 years and it reads as follows ive had 23 starts 19 finishes 4 dnf,s most of the DNF,s where Mechanical Failures. My best finish was in the 1998 400 Supersport race I finished in 7th place. My best Big Bike Finish was in 1998 Formula 1 Race finishing in 27th place and my worst was in 2005 Junior TT Finishing 67th I have never finished last in any TT Race. Yet their are riders trying to gain entry who hav,nt raced at the TT since 1993 and only raced once so i think i should be let in as i have competed every year since 1997 and the MGP over the same circuit since 1994/95/96 but its just a case of wait and see all the best Irish Ago .....

Ago - I am trying by sheer will to get your entry accepted. I'm sending telepathic messages to all the TT officials and sacrificing chickens daily!

Put me down for a T-shirt too! And if you and the buell are caught in a picture like the one of that XRTT above, I'd like to put in a pre-order for the poster!

This post was on the front page of ttwebsite.com and it dosent sound very positive for us or the Buell entry but for now im keeping my fingers crossed at this stage ive done as much as i can its now down to the organizers ............. Entries for the 2007 Isle of Man TT Races closed on Friday the 30th of March, with race organisers the Manx Motor Cycle Club delighted to report that all solo classes have been significantly oversubscribed, whilst the sidecar entry increases over recent years.

The overall standard of the entry for this years races is arguably the strongest it has ever been and fans can look forward to some fascinating racing come June. A focused rider recruitment programme in recent years has been extremely successful, which has seen many new riders embark on a career around the Mountain Circuit enjoying almost immediate success.

In the last three years five solo riders have lapped the circuit at over 120mph on their debuts with an amazing total of 14 managing in excess of 115mph on their debuts in the past two TT’s. Two of those newcomers went on to finish on the podium in the following years Senior TT, with several more attracting manufacturer support and works rides following their TT debuts.

This trend looks set to continue in the Centenary year with another influx of talented new riders, the vast majority of whom are in their 20’s which is excellent news for the future of these famous races. Between them, the solo newcomers have a World Endurance Championship title, three British Championship titles, two AMA Championship titles, four Swedish Championship titles, four French Championship titles, two Spanish Championship titles, wins at the Macau Grand Prix and North West 200 as well as the title of fastest ever newcomer at the Ulster Grand Prix.

The Sidecar class has also benefited from a pro active recruitment campaign with a whopping 10 new crews entering for the first time, including World Superside podium finisher, German Mike Roscher.

Speaking about the standard of the entry, TT Clerk of the Course Neil Hanson commented:

“We are delighted that the Centenary TT has attracted an entry worthy of the status of the event. For a long time we have felt that we have the best road races in the world, but now we truly have the best entry for a road race in the world and the overall standard in both solo and sidecar classes is very high.”

“Of course with so many entries, there is not the room to accommodate everyone and undoubtedly some people will be disappointed not to gain entry this year, but it is vital for safety reasons that we continue to raise the bar throughout the entry, to try and minimise the differential between the first and last riders.”

What an amazing time it would be. No longer the arena of just Italian twins and Jap multis, the IoM should hear the sound of an American twin! This is the greatest race in the world that has welcomed everything from Brit singles, Honda 250-6's to the Moto-Guzzi V8 in it's 100 year history.

Any bike nut knows the importance of the legendary races held on "The Island". Ago, Read, Hailwood, Surtees, Mintner, Duke, Foggy and Dunlop. They all raced there!

Do yourself a favor and buy the DVD "One Man's Island" or any of the "Year in Reviews"

I was just on his website (www.irishagoracing.info) and he had information on how to order shirts. He has 2 different shirts available. I paypal'd him for one of each. Hopefully he will have a Buell themed shirt available, if his entry is accepted.

Go Irish Ago Racing! Go Buell!

Kevin:

I've still got my fingers crossed. . .

Thanks for keeping us updated. Regardless of what the Organising Committee does I'm thrilled with the friendships that have come from this effort.

I have a sneakin' suspicion the Isle will be seeing more Buell racers, not less.

All the best,
Court

Rocket, you can reat assured that Court and I have been massaging as much as possible. I let Court do the talking, I'm liale to spoil the whole thing, I just tell him whom to talk to.

This whole thing is very touch and go at the moment. Do the organizer thingk Ago is fast enough? Do they think the bike is? Do they think it will hold together?

I don't know who has gotten in but from reading the rules and the various posts I would think Ago only shot hs to be one of the 5 spots reserved for "other bikes" They do not need to use any of these spots if they feel the biek rider combo is marginal BUT seeing as this i th e100 anniversary there may be more than 5 other bikes that are of interest to the organizers.

We can only hope that the interest Buell fans have expressed and Courts conversations with certain influencial people make the difference.

We should know in the next couple of days.

Anyone?

They may not be anything. They do not have to use those spots and often do not. I think this is how the Brittan raced there a few times and likely how Joey Dunlap's 500 cc GP bike was accepted.
