I have just heard that we are going to help Kevin Murphy and his team with their Buell entry for the Senior TT this year.

How can you help? We will be getting all the shirts and the like together but for now you can go to these three web sites and chat the effort up. It is not a foregone conclusion that the entry will be accepted. It does not qualify in any of the regular classes so it is entered in the "any bike we think is interesting" rule so it is completely up to the organizers. The more interest the better. This is the rule that saw the Norton rotary, the Brittan and various GP bikes entered over the years.

A few more details. Kevin "Ago" Murphy has purchased the XB12R racebike of our very own Matt of Trogan Horse. He has submitted an entry or the 2007 Isle of Man Senior TT.

Kevin is a long time TT racer with 19 finishes under his belt. Once the entry is accepted he will begin the process of getting ready for the TT. He has the services of Anthony "Slick" Bass former mechanic for Carl Fogarty so the bike is in good hands.

The way qualifying works at the TT is that each race has a minimum speed. Anyone who laps above that speed is in. For this years Senior that speed is 110 MPH so Kevin will not be standign around thats for sure.

BadWeB has offered to help, hopefully we can help get his entry accepted by displaying some of that Buell enthusiasm that BadWeB is famous for. Posting on the above links would help as would chatter here.

Kevin is going to be checking in here regularly so ask questions make comments etc.

Very cool! Don't know if I know enough about the IOMTT to post on your links, but I like watching it. It is always awesome to see people running something out of the ordinary in any race. Please keep us updated on the shirts.

Aeholton, no need to be knowledgeable, just express interest in seeing a Buell running. Perhaps the biggest reason for accepting one of these entires is that fans want to see it run. Both the Brittan and Norton rotary were so far outside the rules that they had almost no other place to compete.

It would be wonderful to see the Buell make the entry list for the IOMTT. I can think of at least one person that would be watching from afar that would enjoy every moment of it.

You younger guys may have to read the details at the link above to "get it" but Cal Rayborn was no stranger to road racing in Great Britain and accomplished some wins on a non-factory XR 750 that were stunning in their time and that are still memorable.

I think I see a certain parallel between Kevin Murphy and Cal Rayborn in their efforts to show that our beloved old tractor engines are deserving of some consideration.

And if the bike had something like the traditional orange, black, and white livery that graced Cal Rayborn's bikes, that would be cool too.

This is a wonderful effort, I hope that Kevin Murphy gets all the help he deserves from Buell/H-D and all of us.

The bike has been painted in those colours for the last 12 months (and our previous race bike was the same). I was lucky enough to have watched Cal Rayborn beat my hero Ray Pickrell at the 1972 Transatlantic trophy, and ever since then have wanted a black/orange/white XR750TT. This is the closest I think i'll get though : )

We are trying to talk them into using Buell Racing colors, nothing against Cal but it is a Buell. Nothing against you eiher Matt, you were waving the Buell racing flag before there was a Buell racing flag to wave, had to make your own.

What is your thought on the TT. Can Kevin get the bike in? Can i finish? I wonder about fuel consumption myself, it is a long way round.

And yet again Harley Davidsons corporate bullshit calls the shots.

This is the BadWeB. Erik Buell is a free man. Irish Ago can do what the f*ck he pleases, including accepting help from friends and Buell enthusiasts who don't need to be annonymous.

Sickening already.

I am glad to see a Buell finally inn the hunt in the TT.

Dang,Rocket, rein it in a bit.Kinda jumping to conclusions and building some big mountains outa molehills.
Dave says he and some friends are going to go help and you have HD Inc. somehow in charge.
Why not just wait and see what actually takes place?

Well Jim, I wonder who Dave's friends could be that are so 'important' they have to remain nameless?

If I were a betting man I believe I could guess who and why, and as usual, it sucks. And if you ask me for a deeper observation where Buell racing in the UK is concerned, it sucks even more when the parent company see fit to give away a single motorbike to the winner of a seasons worth of Supermoto racing.

Like Cecil said, the contingency money in the US might as well be 10 million bucks, as no one is ever gonna win it.

Here's a thing though. I'm not going to continue this as an ongoing argument / debate. These are just my strong feelings as to why I dislike HD and Buell as companies. Off the soap box, thanks.

Sean,
You're off base. A time out for you. Dave was simply honoring my request to not promote another organization here. That's all. Please let it end here and look to more positive, fun and uplifting commentary.

Excellent words Court. I'd add the following to them...

"Be excellent to each other."

aka

"Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself."

BadWeB would be honored to have you and everyone/anyone else join our efforts to support Team Irish Ago in their brave efforts to campaign a modified for road racing Buell XB12X in the Isle of Man Senior TT race.

We're hoping that this popular venue (BadWeB) will generate a lot of meaningful enthusiasm and support for such a potentially historic Buell racing effort on the world stage of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy race, and in its 100th anniversary running no less.

If Kevin (Irish Ago) Murphy and his team will agree as I suspect they will to reciprocate fairly with a BadWeB hyperlink on their www.irishagoracing.info web site and a small BadWeB sticker on the former Trojan-Horse Buell racing machine, BadWeB can steam full speed ahead in this support effort including a banner ad and the offering of promotional merchandise.

That keeps everything in good form wrt our rules here and is a win-win for all involved, especially Buell racing fans the world over. I just hope that Speed TV will cover the Senior TT and show Kevin tearing up the road on his new Buell.

Go Team Irish Ago! : D

Irish Ago's guest book is up and running full speed ahead, so please pop on over and say hello and give a few words of support for his effort to campaign a Buell XB12 in the Isle of Mann Senior TT.

This is historic stuff in the works folks, let's all get on board and help make it happen. : D

Hi All Irish Ago here, Just to put the Record Streight on a few things that have popped up in conversation of late.
Irish Ago Racing are not the owners of the Buell. The Man who owns it is Peter Astell-Burt of C&C Ramsey Ltd, on the Isle of Man and he has kindly given me the chance to Run it in the Senior TT in 2007. That is of course should my entry be accepted fingers crossed for now. Sorry if i have caused Peter any problems in some of the posting as to who owns the Buell...Peter Does and I want to thank him very much for having enough faith in me to let me run this year
Their will be updates on a regular basis on my website all the best Irish Ago....

Thanks for the clarification Irish Ago.

We'll do our best to help get the Buell approved for the Senior TT. If you have any additional advise you can offer towards achieving that, please don't hesitate to offer it up here.

Hi All again, I was just going through some results from TT pre 2000 and came across my result for the 400cc TT in 1999 where i finished in 13th place on a 10 year old Bimota FZR 400 1WG making 55bhp a fastest lap of just over 102mph i think i had a top speed of about 125mph so with nearly twice the BHP and maybe 40+ mph more i have every faith in the Buell and i cant see a problem achieving the 20.30 qualifying time a speed of just over 110mph so fingers crossed for now. We Race, We Ride, We Understand IAR..

Trojan,

Thanks for the photo, that is a lovely paint scheme. A nice variation on the MoCo's factory colors.

Dave,

I suggested those colors when I was thinking of Cal Rayborn and times past. But I can certainly see Buell having factory colors of their own and that would be nice too.

Like all of you, I just find something so inspiring and endearing about this whole effort.

I, being from Chicago, where we vote early and often, have used all 43 of my aliases in signing the guest book.
