Greetings all,
What are you folks using for brake pads? I used Buell's Nissan race pads for my first race weekend and they worked great but is there another brand that others like better?

Thanks for the input, I'm still on a very steep learning curve and several of you have been a great help to me so please accept my thanks in advance!!

One word.....Braking.

Braking sintered pads are far superior to the stock Buell pads and will not leave a deposit on the discs like the stock ones do. As an added bonus they are also a lot cheaper to buy (around US$31.50 per pair)

You should be able to get them from Braking USA or we can ship them worldwide.

Other people have had good results with Lyndall & EBC, but I still think the Braking pads have the edge.

I've used EBC and Braking I prefer Braking on the front I didn't notice a difference between EBC and Braking on the rear

I have been using DP Brakes for 4 race seasons now and they are great pads. They offer good feed back.

I personally like the stock pads the best. To me they seem to have the best feel. We ran then in the daytona 300 and they worked great.

One thing that i have done to the brakes is use a R6-R1 master cylinder you can pick them up from a salvage yard cheap and its a straight bolt on. it really helps with brake fade and give you a firmer lever feel

Ralph,
we used the stock pads a few races, they are ok until you push the bike deep in the corner, EBC pads, well they are in the garbage, so far the best are the Buell race pads you can get from a dealer from Buell..I don't know about braking but I'm sure they are great as well....

I think the Buell race pads are Nissin. Not sure if they're available "over the counter" or only through Buell Racing.

Thanks everyone,

As I mentioned above, I used the Nissan 804 pads with absolutely no problems but the replacement cost is a little steep.

I'll look into the DP and Braking pads which may save me a buck or two as it sounds like the quality is there.

Well, I used the 804's on the street and they feel great. Now for the track day on Sunday...I'll let you know what I think. Skully had some good feedback from his.

I'm hoping too, but I haven't signed up yet.
Also NESBA.com is having some weekend events this year also at HPT and Hallet (I think).
What class are you planning on riding?

Had the track day today at Hallett in Oklahoma and used the Nissin 804 Race Pads. I like these pads! Very powerful and experienced no fade. They felt real good and I will buy them again in the future.

Someone mentioned the R6-R1 master cylinder.

But which year, because the master cylinder of the 06' R6 is different than the 04'
