Ah great. So refreshing to know it's a show bike and not a museum piece.

That really will please many!

Warrs of London race nearly the full season 2006 in the US FX. They get a Jeremy McWilliams to show up as one of the greatest developmentriders this business have.

Why is it wrong now to display that bike??

We are more than 50 days per year on the racetracks, and believe it or not we display our racebikes too (-:

Jens, you know the point I'm making. Warrs aren't racing their XBRR this season. I doubt in fact they'll ever race it again. Certainly not for a season if at all. So, at best it's become a show bike, which is a real shame. If anyone can make a success of racing a Buell in the UK, if not Europe, Warrs are the people to do so.

But why so negative?

I bet Warrs invested in that 06 season more money than any other dealership in Buell history. The Teams and Jeremys input is a benefit for any XBRR owner and Buellracer. So many details are figured out in that time and that knowledge comes by the factory racesupport on direct way to the privateers.

This 06 engagement of Warrs, BMC, the Team and Jeremy is the basement of any future BUELL raceacivities in the topclasses.

So why they should not be proud of that?

Let me try to explain it to you. Buell owners are a different breed...as they have more of an emotional attachment to their bikes than most sportbike riders. I think Rocket, et al., is so "negative" because of the frustration that he and so many Buell fans have of the way that HD pulled the plu..., ah, sponsorship out from under our beloved Buell Racing, and the executive of the company, Erik. They didn't like the way it was done and they are pissed! If they didn't love their brand so much, they would not have had such an emotional response.

Also, they know that these actions will result in Buell owners world wide getting the "business" from their buds who ride other brands, about the "crappy, unreliable" Buells that they ride. They know that these actions will further embolden the HD dealerships (who already do not respect them for not riding a REAL motorcycle) to treat them even worse, like red-headed stepchildren they are. They can see it now when they have to go in to have maintenance done on their "crappy" Buells that couldn't hold together for a race...or a season.

They feel that their hopes were built up by all of the hype about the bright future of the XBRR racing in national spotlight, only to (once again) be let down hard by the company that could, but wouldn't.

Get it?

I also think that it is a shame that as Warr's are a UK dealer and have the ONLY XBRR in the country, that they are not going to race it at all in this country. If only to give the fans something to see and hear rather than just pore over at bike shows. it would have to race against Ducati 999/1098/996's, Aprilia RSV's and the like, but I'm sure people would still like to see it race rather than stagnate.

They have the bike, and I assume the spares, and I have a world class rider that would love to give it a go : )

yeah sometimes it sucks when things in live not making progress as we like... But come on, I know the mentality of the Buellriders a bit, most are adults who did not scream out their frustrations daily.

Thats what I call whining.

Dave,

I dont think John Warr like to share his raceaktivities... (-: But if the interest of an racing XBRR in UK is that big, surely somebody will find a budget to buy and race one of this bikes.

Jimi,
No, I do not get it. Like I've said so many times before, I just don't "get" people who focus on the negative and/or who dwell on failure.

I never will understand such people. They are not among the doers or achievers in the world.

If being teased by friends or other bikers about something entirely out of one's control is that painful to some people, apparently you included, I'd say that you/they need to learn to take it as well as you/they dish it out. How ridiculous! "I'm upset at H-D/Buell because my friends tease me." You gotta be kidding me! YECH!

That said, there are plenty of easy irrefutable comebacks to comments derisive of the XBRR. XBRRs have won races against the top literbike superbikes on the planet, including endurance races. Folks who are not so miserably negative all the time understand this. Instead of joining in with the chorus of whining and derision, they put out the positive facts and get back to working on yet more positive acheivments.

I appreciate most the folks who are determined to work through disappointment and failure towards ultimate success and great achievement. They are the doers and achievers of the world.

Thomas Edison understood well the importance of keeping a positive attitude and working through failure towards success. So too do the folks at Buell.

Matt! Do it!

Blake, I didn't expect you to get it.. You can't tell the difference in constructive criticism and negativity, or blind obedience and cheerleading. Have you ever questioned authority...I mean really questioned authority? Just because I have does not mean that I haven't done or achieved about all of the things that I have set out to in my life. I have done and seen things that you could only dream about...not that you would see the value in doing them, but who knows. Certainly, you have done and seen things that I never will also...

Whining = venting and what better place to do it than the internet forums. They were made for this kinda stuff...and you were surprised. We shouldn't get all sanctimonious about these sites or these topics.

And therein lies a major problem with the internet. Those who have never risked anything but a boastful spirit mingle with some of the greats.

Man you are rich. Ever consider there are people who are great achievers but do not wish to stand under the internet spotlight for fear they're labelled a boastful big headed prat? Many great achievers I'm sure would consider your internet participation as pretty self indulgent , given you're the one most often feathering your own cap. What exactly is your great achievement anyway?

I'll tell you what the major problem with the internet is. Sometimes those greats choose of their own free will to use it to reach out to the minions, but the minions aren't that willing to have the wool pulled over their eyes. The internet offers these minions a window of opportunity to actually get their message across to these so called, and often self proclaimed greats who more often than not sit in their ivory towers.

It makes me sick to the back teeth to see you here proclaiming the internet is often nothing but a ship of fools. Please explain why it is you're always at the helm?

The XBRR wasn't the expected success it was supposed to be. No big deal. Pointless defending it to the death, but worse still, leading the minions on to believe great things are in the Buell racing pipeline is a many years old battle hymn some of us are sick of hearing. Especially so when all these so called great achievers can openly criticise the likes of Fischer, Moto C, Ilmor, even Ducati. I'd think much more of a motorcycle company who had no fear in telling its minions the truth. "We screwed up with the XBRR". "We gave it our best shot". "The plug got pulled on us". Instead we get "Wait and see what's next". Well what exactly is next? Why the f*ck is it such a big secret, if there really is a next? Just f*cking tell us so we can quit the bitching and stand by the product and believe in where the product is going.

But no, there's the brainwashing. 'Buying' into certain influential types. Getting the troops on board. Perpetuating the myth. The lie even. I think it's sad that people like Jens for example are caught in the crossfire. No doubt since he was invited over to Daytona he feels the need to show some kind of loyalty. Sucker punched more like.

You don't like what those who have never risked anything but a boastful spirit have to say? THEN SPEAK THE F*CK UP AND TELL US WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR RATHER THAN BEATING US DOWN FOR OUR IGNORANCE. If not, I fear I may try for the same level of boastful spirit from an underachiever as you subject me to.

This year, if I still own a Buell by summer I'll be amazed at myself. It's not that the bike is that wrong, well not really anymore, but associating what I ride with a bunch of corporate fools is very off putting. I like my vehicles inspired by visionaries, but not ones that have lost the use of their eyes and ears.

Anyone makes me a serious offer, I'm selling, and you can thank yourself as the main protagonist in making me want to do so.

I’m sure you’re sincere, Sean. But I’ll bet when the time comes to actually push it out the door, you won’t be able to do it. It’s too much a part of you. Blood, sweat, and tears, and all that crap. And why did you even bother? What was the carrot? All that torque… and the sound it made when its shoulder was to the load.

You're going to sell it because you don't like the company that built it, or a bunch of people on the stupid Internet made you mad?

I’ll bet you a buck (50% of my resources right now) that when the time comes, you won't be able to do it.

(Make that bet 98 cents. I just blew two of 'em on this post.)

Court, Carly Simon words nail it! This is why people give everything to catch a LSR, race pushrod racebikes, and this is the Spirit of Daytona 2006.

Rocket I know you a bit, and you have my full respect for fighting for what you are standing for. But if you talking about Loyality, YES this people, who developed the XBRR out of the regular worktime, people like John Warr(dont forget Martin Szlagowski) who spent a lot of time and money in that dream, the Teams, everybody who bought and will buy an RR and any spectator who come on the track or a show to see the XBRR, have my greatest loyality because they make it happend.

There is a time to scream and there is a time to keep the mouth shut.

Informationpolitic of an OEM manufacturer is a balance of many, many interests. Be sure that they give these information at the right time when it fits into the plans of BMC.

"I'd think much more of a motorcycle company who had no fear in telling its minions the truth."

Sean (Rocket),

Right here on BadWeB, there are many perfectly candid and honest "this is what went wrong" statements from folks familiar with the XBRR efforts. I don't have time to go find and quote them for you. They are there. So you are wrong and out of line again, and you are insulting and rude. Are you calling me a "minion"? Just wondering old friend where I stand in your estimation. : |

You are also WAY out of line in your miserable assertions about people here, especially Jens, who has only ever conducted himself here with integrity and thoughtfulness; to publicly insinuate that he would compromise that is unacceptable! SHAME ON YOU!

As stated so many times before, we'd all be much obliged if you and everyone would take a permanent time-out from making such miserable comments in this public forum. I don't want to see anyone personally deriding another's integrity like that here ever again! I suggest you take serious stock of your statements and apologize to Jens immediately.

As for Court, we all understand that he's THE perennial man of sunshine and optimism concerning Buell motorcycles and Buell Racing. How horrible for us?

Do you actually expect the folks at Buell Racing to start announcing to the public their corporate frustrations? That's incredibly naive. I know for certain that they have better things to do than slit there own throats.

Enough, this thread is supposed to be about Ducati's effort in AMA FX this year.

>>>As for Court, we all understand that he's THE perennial man of sunshine and optimism concerning Buell motorcycles and Buell Racing. How horrible for us?

Yeah . . well, actually in 1989 I predicted great things for Buell.Amongst the, then approaching 24 Buell owners, I was an optimist's optimist. I didn't apologize to anybody then, I don't now.

Turned out, little surprise to me, I was right.

In 2007 I predict GREAT things for Buell . . I'm willing to take all bets.

Positiveity is positively positive.

I used to have some folks around me who liked to point out all the shit I did wrong, how my friends were smarter than and that I should do better in school. They were like gum on the soul of the human shoe.

I'm a really happy guy who's thinking the Buell future, by the way. . . mark your calenders. . that INCLUDES BUELL RACING. . has never been brighter.

Those who have never risked anything but a boastful spirit mingle with some of the greats.

That's a f*cking insult in anyone's book and that is the reason for my above post.

As for Jens, I never insulted him at all. I simply suggested him being invited to Daytona by the Buell dogs places him between a rock and a hard place IN MY OPINION.

I used to have some folks around me who liked to point out all the shit I did wrong, how my friends were smarter than and that I should do better in school. They were like gum on the soul of the human shoe.

Who exactly is this INSULT directed at? I presume the people referred to aren't reading here, so I further assume those insults are firmly placed at my door seeing as I fit the bill of Buell critics.

Well I'm sick too of listening to the thinly veiled insults thrown at me from the likes off that two faced prick.

He insults the integrity of BadWeB over on Sacborg, yet you feel it necessary to appease him for all his worth. I won't forget the day he shat on you and the BadWeB when he took Team Elves over there.

The problem here is some don't like to hear the truth spoken, and you can count on me to speak it.

As for where you stand with me Blake, you need not question that at all. You know the answer so I'd ask you not try to emotionally blackmail me just because I don't agree with your views on some issues. That said, I expect my recent projections of the Blast build cost, as well as a poorly executed motorcycle from a company who frankly could and should have done better, and now this recent exchange, well I guess this might be the BadWeB door firmly shut in my face eh? Sorry if the truth hurts but someones got to say it. Especially when we are all under the influence of a motorcycle manufacturer who wishes to play amongst us minions. Yes that is you and I.

As for the S1W selling price. $15000 might get anyone stupid enough to the negotiating table.

Folks are very distrusting of Buells over here. Rocket isn't selling any time soon I can guarantee! (When new in 1998 they were £9995.)

If you're asking 15K for a non-stock,unreliable and much abused S1, you won't have to worry about getting anyone to the table.
I guess you'll still own a Buell by next Summer. Oh, well.

Steve, I think mine is beyond compare to an S1 with a muffler change and a fancy air filter set-up.

As for finding a stock one and you thinking such would be more desirable, I doubt that very much. They were pretty unreliable as stock. Unless you were thinking along the lines of keeping a stock S1 as a museum piece, which is a pretty common scenario these days for Buells, I doubt any serious buyer would want a stock S1 if they were actually intending to ride it.

Considering the no expense spared approach to my S1W I don't think £7000 give or take is out of the way. Nor do I see such a figure as unachievable. You're welcome to join the queue.

This is all so very, very sad to read. We've ALL of us some great things to contribute here.I'm sure Rocket's Buell is a good machine that performs acceptably(it does run right?)

We're all divided into groups that either think we can dictate to Buell what they'll manufacture.Or are happy with most everything they manufacture. Why such a dichotomy? These are great machines! Ducatis' are great machines,SO ARE GSXR1000s.Let's just (ALL OF US) accept that ALL bikes have their strengths&weaknesses.

If 'ya need/want 150hp there are plenty of manufacturers who want to capture your money,go there. In all of my bashing i just can't find where my own Buells' have ever let me down.....Rocket is cool.Court is too.

I was at an event where i saw Erik put an arm around Courts shoulder so....THEY KNOW EACH OTHER WELL...There are corporate secrets..that must be kept secret...it's business...
