Hello, Everyone.

My name is Walt Sipp. As some of you know I've roadraced Buell's in one series or another since 1998. Since then I've had my share of up's and down's, but overall it's been great. The people I've met along the way have been great. I've also gotten a lot of help over the years and I've always tried to repay that.

For the last 5 years I've enjoyed sponsorship from Blue Springs Harley-Davidson here in my home town of Kansas City. I found out recently though that the sponsorship funds for roadracing were moving to a different style of racing (the dealership also sponsors drag racing and flat track). Obviously this cam as a big blow as I was making plans for my 2007 season. My original plan was to campaign my XB12R in the ASRA Thunderbike series and my XBRR in the ASRA Superbike series and an occasional AMA FX race. Now my plans are highly up in the air.

The purpose of this message is to hopefully find someone out there that might no someone interested in taking on some financial sponsorship. I have all the equipment needed. My main area of concern is tire assistance and fuel for travel.

Anyone interested can find out more information on my website www.waltsipp.com or call me directly at 816-289-6909

Walt, I'm sorry to hear about your loss of sponsorship. This is certainly turning out to be a tumultuous year for Buell racing. Hopefully something will turn up.

That's what I'm saying... Maybe at the beginning of the season we take the contingency money and split it between the racers who have real plans and have a few years already under their belts?

Walt, my sympathies are with you mate. I know just how you feel : (

as the only guy to stand up and say he is planning to do at least some FX races in 2007, you should get all the 'Buell Racing' checks that are sent in to Badweb.

I hope you manage to get something together for the season. Have you tried speaking to Rich at Innovative Motorcycle Research?

Walt, I'll talk to Bill Bartels and find out what his plans are with Higbee and Springsteen in 07. If Higbee and Springsteen aren't going to be doing as much as in the past, you never know.

PM me your contact info, I'll be down there tomorrow.

No guarantees.

I wonder if Richard Cronrath still has his XBRR and potential sponsors in place as well? Maybe Walt could team up. I'm pretty sure Hale won't be riding a Buell this year.

Walt,

As a big fan of yours at the ASRA races, I can attest to your spirit and enthusiasm during these events. As a poor old retired dude living on fixed income, I cannot personally assist you finacially...but if I could I would. We are all pulling for you to get another sponsor and campaign on that XBRR. What a shame it would be for you to not get to race that bike this year.

With all of the bad news, and I do mean BAD (i.e. XBRR showing up to few FX races and DNF'ing in way too many, BRAG dissolved, XBRR out for FX season, and now this matter with Walt), this has been a disastrous year for Buell racing and Buell racing enthusiasts in general.

Somebody help this guy!

Exactly what I was thinking ;)

Thanks for everyone's concern. I'll be back at the track one way or another next year, it just depends on how much of a presence I'll have.

"...it just depends on how much of a presence I'll have."

Remember, it is close to Christmas. Hopefully someone listening will give you some "presence".

Good luck Walt.

Sorry to hear about this Walt.

Especially at such a relatively late date. With Daytona only 3 months off.

I hope someone comes through for you!

Walt, I hope you are able to find sponsorship. It would be a big let down if you can't run a full season because of finances.

With regards to Rich at Innovative, I believe he and Buell have also parted ways. I have spoken with him several times this week because I purchase race equipment from him. He will be campaining a Yamaha R6 this year in FX. Another great loss to the Buell Racing community.

He said he will continue to support Buell racers in CCS and ASRA, but has no plans to return to AMA with a Buell anytime soon.

After the reamings that HD/Buell have given him over the last few years, who could blame him. He takes years of Buell racing experience with him, that would be very hear to replace.
