We should have the XB-9R out on the track on 10/7 for a shakedown, in pretty much street trim. I plan on throwing on a set of Michelin PR-C / PR-5. Stock wheelbase. Any hints on a starting ride height and sag? We have the stock shock right now, so we can really only adjust the front ride height, with small rear changes through sag. The geometry on this thing is pretty alien to me, so I have no idea what works on the track (swingarm angle, etc.). My first stab will probably be to set sag around 30mm and adjust the ride heights to compensate for the difference between the Michelins and the stock Dunlops. Thanks, -z. | ||

That sounds like a good place to start from, as far as sag numbers go. I like to run my sag between 30-35mm. I've never used the stock shock though. Rear spring rate is very critical because the steep swing arm angle inhibits the bikes ability to transfer weight to the rear under acceleration. If you plan to put a shock on the bike the penske's work great. They also offer a valve kit for the front end, Only available through their dealer's only though |
