I'm posting these Q's here because I think the audience might be interested in the answers...

OK - questions to Anony or anybody "in the know" on MotoST (since I'm always scheming and scamming):

Schedule:

As the schedule isn't formalized beyond Daytona and Iowa, is there the intention that the MotoST series will be attached to the AMA series? Same venues but weekend before or weekend after (or better yet, Saturday the same weekend for the shorter races). Scheduling together with AMA would dramatically simplify logistics for those of us with AMA commitments AND might really help increase PR exposure.

Alternate RR tuning?
Am I safe to assume that the Factory will have an RR motor that can be de-tuned to meet MotoST requirements on the spec (Sunoco) fuel with the 115HP limit?

As it stands, we're reviewing the draft rules and it looks like with 115HP max, we're talking a peppier XB12 (probably better from the context of Glendale Buell/HD sponsorship since we'd leave one racebike on the floor next to the streetbikes)

Might resurrect a So CA "team" between Sandy Eggo (Finnerty), Glendale (Me) and Bartels (Dixon)... dunno - nobody has objected yet but hey, I'm the only one talking at this point. Scott Jensen would also ride a few laps if the races share the same venues as AMA (he can use the seat time for track familiarity) and though he races his Gixxer in AMA SBK, his "day job" is HD mechanic at Arrowhead HD/Buell.

Mario didn't exactly puke at the team idea yesterday. I can contribute an XB and a half... maybe a full "B" bike if I get a twin motor.

Gotta dash... I'm writing race team proposals this weekend. Daytona in March gives me enough time to think and organize... yeah, riiIIIIiiight... like there's EVER enough time.

There's a gazillion scams lurking in this warped, pointy head. If only I didn't have this day job that interfered with doing the really cool stuff!

It sounds like most of the XB12's set up for thunderbike would need very little in the way of changes to be ready for MOTO-ST.

about ideal for a slightly modified XB.

Gotta read the rules about a "punched out" XB9

Also, gotta figure out how to handle wheel changes in the front. When we were kidding ourselves about the 6 hour, we could get front wheel changes down to less than 3 minutes but that wasn't always repeatable and was with cold brakes too.
