Bomber here is you serious research:
1: who wants to go?
2: can they go, or do they just want to go
3: Ok we are going
4: go fast enuff to do 130 or so
5: beg for help when we cant go that fast
6: go gamble
7: go home
8: brag to everyone who could not go, and get your name on the saltflats web site

Dont think its that tuff, just need to figure out the ride thing, and get the tickets for the women, and call some of my cali freinds to meet me out there(we hook up once a year, most of the time in vegas, but ever since the art of the motorcycle, things seem to have changed), dont think or research to hard let just say we are doing it, and do as nike
but that me and my .02 again:b

Okay, this probably doesn't belong on this site (I gotta get a less boring job, so I'll stop posting here so much !), but don't ya hate it when people compliment you and add "for your age" to it !!!! I went to a new dentist in Franklin, and he says I have good healthy gums "for my age", nice teeth "for my age", and I always get compliments with "for my age" tacked on !!!

What's with that !!!???

CJM

P.S. First thing I gotta do if I'm going to consider Bonnieville, is get another bike !! I love my Blast, but it ain't gonna do 130 !!! I have the need, for speed (Top Gun)!!!

ah i recall the story, as long as you dont mind if i gamble and drink all night, it as we say "its on" now the hard part, time to figure out which way, and whos house we are going to stop at, and if Blake is moving to the Denver area, that only a grand away, good half way point, oh Blake, when you move can you set us up for a night????If not i have freinds in longmont, and another outside of denver, 2 days out, 1 day back, sounds fine to me, time to save some cash for the craps table, anyone up for bike week/mardi gras, they happen the same week this year, only happens once every 12 i think, who going????

Don't let it get you down, Chris. There are plenty of guys who like their women a little bit older, myself included. And if no one has told you today, "you're pretty cute...for your age!"

Man I'm gone for a few hours and had so much to catch up on. Oh well sometimes I have to work, yeah right.
Truck and trailer pooling sounds good to me. I'll have to run it past Doug since it's his truck and trailer. I'm sure he'll be for it. At the present we can fit 9 bikes in the rig. 5 in the truck, 6 is just too close. I hope this doesn't mean we have to come to Chicago and pick you guys up, that's a little out of the way. You could ship your stuff to the dealership, ride here, load up in the trailer and we'd head for the salt! I'm sure it's in here somewhere but when is this going to happen? Gotta work it into the schedule.

CJM,
I know just the guy to help you out with the new bike!

Daves Too Cool !!! I could use the help !

Hey, since the Landspeed Racers are taking a break, and I'm bored, I think I'll post a joke ! You guys probably won't think it's funny, but any women reading will !!

This is an example of a man who is at least trying but missed the mark a few ....

Husband's note on fridge to his wife:

"Someone from the Guyna Colleges called.
They said Pabst beer is normal.
I didn't even know you like beer."

CJM

P.S. Why thank you X1, your are forgiven for the B remark !!! You ain't so bad yourself, for a young un !

OK Dave, the dates for next year are sept 19-22 2003, so you have plenty of time to ask doug, and you would not have to come get us, unless of course you wanted to, and i think 9 bikes would be plenty, may even have the wife go for the 130 club, anyway i figure its a good topic for the winter
this could turn out to be fun, figured i would look at air fairs from chicago to salt lake, comes in around 325, for a non stop flight, and i didnt even try hard, so air fair is one way to go for those not interested in driving
So dave, what do we have to wear to be part of the trip, waterloo stickers on the helmet, or leathers????maybe one or 2 on the bike???
let us know

Daves, will call Friday, but I have a question about buying out of State, I didn't think you could do it?? I know you can't live in Arkansas and buy and Harley here in Wisconsin ???

And I want to ride it, to see if I could handle that much bike !

Dave, I cant believe you left me off your list!!!!
I bet I am the only one who would actually show up. Where was everyone for the numerous track days this yr? Hows about the Prarie Du Chien ride?

Bomber gets excused due to his employment status for the better part of the summer, but everyone else is getting detention for not showing up.:D

Very sorry Dyna, I didn't know you wanted to go. Of course you can have a spot in the trailer! So now, months away we have no more room cause I know someone else from Waterloo will want to go for sure. Heck we do have more than one trailer and Doug is thinking about a 38 foot 5th wheel!

I'll be here all day on Friday from 10am til about 6:30pm. Yes you can come ride one first. Yes you can buy from me!!!! HD is weird about where you sell your bikes. Buell isn't that way. I've sold Buells all over the country.

Dumb Question...

Does the salt at Bonneville corrode the polished aluminum parts like the road salts here in Wisconsin?

If yes, what do you use to protect the finish?

Thanks,

Bill

Fireman Jim say's there' a some salt away spray that you soak you bike, truck, trailer and other stuff down with when you're done. Said it worked great.

All of you thinking about heading out to Bonneville next year--DO IT!!!!!!IT ROCKS!!.You cannot believe the good times/great memories/and friends you will have and make!!!!I am hooked forever.
Doncha know,Salt-Away was a sponsor of Team Elves last year and I'm betting they will do it again--great girl I worked with there.I used it in 2001 on my S-2 with a ton of polished aluminum and NO spots what so ever.Same with truck and bike this year.Check out Salt-Away.com.
Char,I barely remember MY name let alone someone's nickname.
Too bad you folks gotta put away your bikes,I'm going riding tomorrow--supposed to be 70 F.
