....Oh and the next time Court says "Follow me. I know the backroads around here and a shortcut that'll get us there early." Good thing we had some extra time on our hands.;)

It's in the works, my head's spinning and I HAVE to digest about 8 things that DESERVE to be covered in detail.

One relates directly to a letter I recieved last night, from Buell employees. It seems our visit made a bigger impression than we may have known. (see photo below)

I will....until I get some eggs & bacon and the 387 pages of the Sunday NY Times behind me, share a little something I got from the factory.....

In the interim, I'll say this, if you are a Buell pundit, I'd be packing your bags in anticipation of your move to a place where folks will listen to you. You have no idea of what I saw at Buell.

I'll have my head out of the cloud in a while and be able to digest this.

Again, for now. . . particularly to Buell owners in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa (and, oh yes, Brad from Minnesota)....

THANK
YOU
Court
Buellman & Don King

This came from THE Elves with a letter that brought memories, tears and excitement

JB2, i hope you'll forgive me for using some of the words in your e-mail to me last night:

Warm Fuzzies from East Troy

FB1,

Trip to East Troy will no doubt be listed as one of the grandest times I've had related to motorcycling. Picture twelve Team Elves members loitering in the employee cafeteria cutting up with Erik and several other key people from BMC.

We mingled with all of the employees getting personal tours of each of their workstations. It was obvious they were amped that we were there. What a feeling. Several times I observed fellow team members more than a little surprised with the attention.

Erik takes his time and works the team roster and over the course of the day spends considerable time with each of us. Really cool.

Lump in throat. Here amidst the push and grind of making a dream a reality and a financial success his interest and passion for the human element is first and foremost.

Pinching myself,

JB2"

fellow Hooligans, from around the world, we are all a part of something very great here.

Jim, thanks for making me feel like i was there :)

See Chris; aren't you glad we got a "real" beer in front of you in that picture? Imagine the shame if people found out about the watered-down stuff you were drinking before :)

>>>>Next year I wanna go to Bonneville, just to watch

Hahahahaha...no one "just watches"....see, the moment I find out you are going to be there, I'll put you to work. And, by the way, the Wisconites are now a PROVEN talent pool!

Questions:

1) How many Danish flags can you get on one jersey?

2) Why does Bantz have a cup of coffee in front of him, yet his face screams Falstaff Fever?

3) Who put the piece of popcorn on his nose?

4) Why doesn't he know it's there?

5) Is Chris lauging "at" him or "with" him?

6) Why is Blake carrying a notepad? Doesn't he look suspiciously like that camp counselor who made you weave the plastic key chain?

7) What's on the notepad?

Hmmmmm....it just gets more complicated :)

to all the elvish folks that came to Uke's on Friday, thanks a million! I enjoyed putting faces to names I've read and written to for quite some time . . . . your genorosity with your time and energy will not soon be forgotten . . .thanks so much for sharing your enthusiasm, and letting us be, in a small way, part of the team

take good care

ANSWERS:

1) N/A (btw, they were duct taped on there, not sewn)

2) Because Bantz promised the Doc a sober driver to his destination at Midway Airport. I only drink fine Kentucky bourbon and only in the company of FMJ and only at the Stateline in Wendover, NV. :)

3) Not popcorn. Glare from a greasy faced Buell rider who spent too many hours napping in a Ford truck.

4) See answer #3

5) Court you should know me well enough to know the answer is "at". You know the reason FMJ and I hang with the good Doc because he is a "chick magnent". :)

6) N/A

7) N/A After several micro-brews I thought I might get a sneak but no luck. He kept it out of reach of roaming eyes.

OBSERVATION: Yes Chris you should go to Bonneville but you should also heed Court's warning. He is a ruthless manager and will take advantage of any skills you might be able to offer the team.

Henrik, yep as much as I hate to admit it, I liked the "real" beer !! Think I'm going to change brands now !!

Court, JB2, Cool, I'll go to Bonneville and work !! Not sure what I can do, maybe clean and shine the bike ??!!

I've got a whole year to prepare, and after seeing Court I don't believe he's capable of being ruthless! He's just very supportive and proud of His Team !!

Oooooops....Major Elf Goof. Let me share one thing.....stay CLEAR of the bike :). If the "bike guy" needs help, he'll ask. I already have something in mind for you.

Hey....I can be ruthless.

Reminds me of the guy who took his girlfriend for a ride in his new convertible, hit a large bump, and drove on RUTHLESSLY!

Greg,
I was wondering the same thing!! He WAS doing a bunch of scribbling all evening.

All who were there,,,,,
Thanks for a wonderful evening. It was worth the trip! I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Echoing previous statements by others, it was really great putting faces with names of folks you have been chatting with for so long.
Every person I met was GREAT! I don't want to mention names because I know I'll mess up and forget someone. A blanket thanks to all will have to do. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a few pic's to post but won't have time until tomorrow. It's amazing how being gone for a single day put everything so behind schedule.

Thanks ton's to all the folks at Ukes for all the work. The chow was great, the kringles fresh and the beans stayed in the can!!!!

Court, I'll get that picture off to you tomorrow.

MikeJ, thanks for the guided tour of Hals, it would have been fun to go in the back of the speed shop but I completely understand their need to keep things covered.

FMJ, You my man are a piece of work!! I wish I could have hung out a while longer but the road schedule was pretty tight. Maybe I'll get a chance to buy you a cold one in Wendover next year.

Pics to come, I promise!

Brad
