any word on if buell will still be paying out in the new ccs / fusa or for that fact is there still going to be a thunderbike class ?come on all you fusa racers are bound to know something. | ||

I just read that FUSA is going away, to be replaced by some American Sport Bike Association events. Clear Channel dumped the whole CCS/FUSA deal apparently. Here's the reports on it... http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=24615 Not sure what it really means though. | ||

there is alot of guessing about stuff going on , on the ccs message board. I was just wondering if any of the thunderbike guys heard anything definitive about what is going on. I was planning on racing ccs thunderbike and a couple fusa events,I guess I'll just wait and hope things are ( classes) are set up like they were last year. | ||

I can't imagine that with the support that Buell provided the class that there won't be another similar one. Sure would be great to see the Ducatis, and other bikes in the class make a better showing. | ||

I'd like to see it set up like the canadian version all air cooled.I'd like to try to catch one of those races this year. | ||

Based on the info posted on CCS's new website, www.ccsracing.us, not much is changing other that the name FUSA being replaced with ASRA. However, it seems the one big rule change of the year is directed at Buells that race in the Super Sport Series. The info provided on the web indicated that XB Buells will not be entitled to unlimited internal engine modifications as they have in the past. It does not say what modifications would be allowed. Does anyone have more info on this topic? | ||

If it is any consolation guys, we will DEFINITELY have Thunderbike racing here in the UK next year  Run to the same rules as the F-USA Thunderbike series it looks like being a cracking series already. We have a meeting on Monday that could see this run at the very highest level of British Motorcycle Sport. Watch this space......  | ||

i just got my CCS newsletter, so they are in the mail. i havent had time to read, nor do i have time to scan it in....i did notice that thunderbike remains a class in CCS. | ||

So they dropped the Formula Sportbike (750 IL4's vs 1000 Twins) cause nobody cared and participation fell off

I saw mention of an Amateur thunderbike class in the ASRA. "Our ASRA American SportBike Racing Series adds even more to the mix with SportBike and SuperBike competition on the pro level and ThunderBike for both amateurs and experts. And for endurance lovers, our GT classes and Team Challenge Series offer the best seat time anywhere." That would be something new as well. An amateur class in a national series. | ||

no it wouldn't be.you could race as an am. last year.its goi9ng to be interesting to see if in fact they do let the triumph race in thunderbike.Mike Himmelsbach has already said he'll be racing one in the sportbike class.there wouldn't be any reason he wouldn't race thunderbike while he was there at the nationalsthat would mean some extra loot for him. | ||

Anyone having problems with the CCS website? I can't get on their forum. THEY send me the password, and when I try to log in, it says invalid Password. How queer is that!?? Also, I can't get a link to the new rule book. Is it not open yet, or are you guys able to get it!? | ||

I read through the tentative Rules and Regs for 2006 for CCS and it appears as though most race prepped Buells will be eliminated from CCS's Lightweight SuperSport class. While bone stock XB9's & XB12's will still qualify, any XB model Buell with any kind of motor work (1169 pistons, Millenium cylinders, higher compression, valves, etc.) are no longer permitted. The CCS classes that remain for modified XB's are Lightweight Superbike, Lightweight Grand Prix, Thunderbike, and Supertwins. Oh well! ASRA Sportbike and Thunderbike have changes. ASRA Sportbike adopts the same rules that exclude modified XB's in CCS. The Thunderbike class, that Estok won this year, added a rule that would allow ARSA to change the horsepower-to-weight ratio on any bike during the season. The competitors would have 30 days to comply. Also, Three cylinder, air cooled, non-fuel injected bikes up to 1200cc are now allowed to compete. |
