I'd like to see people's drag set up's. I'm looking for a buell now to use as a 80% drag 20% street bike (get me to the bar thats 1/4 mile away)and would like to see some other people's set up and what all they have done to there bike to get it ready for the 1/4 mile runs.

I am also interested in drag set-ups. I have gone down the track a couple of times and seem to have nailed the light. Now I just need to make the bike faster. My best et was 12.77 @ 108mph. I have a race ecm, Forcewinder intake, stock header with White Brothers Slip on. I am thinking about adding the Force Streetfighter Header System.

I've run 12.21 @ 109.98mph with my 2000 m2
V&H pipe, K&N filter, rejetted & top end rebuilt.
New cams & race ecm this year, will have to wait another month or 2 and see how it goes.

10.6 @ 128 with a X1, 8" over swing arm, 130 HP. My 60 ft times suck, but that's what this summer is for. I need to work on gearing and jetting on my carb. It bogs off the line really bad.

I have drag raced a s3 for 5 years with no more than a slip on muffler and rejeted carb I have done a best time of 12.33at 111mph. I run my bike oin street trim and just slip the cluch out as I launch the bike. my best 60' time was 1.89 and this is with out a wheely bar and I am not a small person. the best thing you can do is seat time make as many passes down the track that you can. I won my first big race in 2003 ahdra in AZ street et class. and my dial in was 12.75 and I ran 12.78 not bad for a bracket racer with no tick stuff. like delay boxex or auto shift.

Crow, that's a good time!
Are you using an air shifter and a wheelie bar?

yep! and a M/T slick that spun quite a bit off the line were shooting for 10.40 or 10.30 we know it has it in her it was our first time out this year with this set up had a destroyer with us to but had a nasty oil leak so we couldn't get it on the track but talk about a scary sounding bike should have it fixed for next weeks racing

At what RPM do you launch?
What was your 60" time?

We are not allowed to use an air shifter and a wheelie bar so it is hard to compare.

My times:
60" 1,566
1/4 10,947 @ 120,88 mph

10.61 @ 126 mph on a 1998 S3 74 ci. Branch heads, 585 R.S. cams, S&S thunderjetted G, 8" over arm and totally street legal! Oh.. air shifting and 60 footin' 1.52. I think there is a pic on Cool Buell pics.

Rob

Jeff, try a front end strap it really helped me.

Thanks for making me feel bad Rob! I pulled the long swing arm off and am converting my bike to go to Maxton. Hope to make the May event, but right now my forks are out getting rebuilt. Don't know when they will be back and time is short.

Sweet bike. Is strapping the front end better than just dropping the forks in the trees?

Nice bike, 3boyz!

Strapping and lowering would really help you.
I might be not as fast on the 1/4 mile but my 60" are not bad compared to you wheeliebarguys.

Haven't heard much on the S&S 600. You might want to look into the Red Shift cams. The 630/585 is real nice if your riding on the street, the 643 is better for racing some street ok. Looks like the 600 will give you power at lower rpm, will probably come on around 1500 to 2000 rpm. The red shift won't come up until 2500 to 3500. If your a stop light to stop light rider go with the 600. Running on the highway pick a red shift. Just my 2 cents. CK

i run 10.37@142,my 60 foot time was1.46
not bad for a 99 s1 lightning.my bike has 5% racked trees, took 2" out of the forks, streched the swingarm 5",moved the shock from under the bike to a motocross mono shock set up.made my own body work, the tank was used to make a carbon tank cover, looks factory but you just remove and there is a one gallon alum. tank and all electronics shift minder, race fueler shift counter and vac retard for my 20psi of boost from my turbo.i think this bike will make 8sec run but the fuel injectors are only ratted for just over 100hp,i used a race fueler to open the palse width and a ford in tank fuel pump with hand made regulator to up the pressure.this helped alot.but bigger injectors for a buell would be nice.

My expierience has been that these things don't like alot of gear, so I would actually start around the stock ratio and vary it a tooth in both directions starting with the rear to get a basic idea which way to go.

Hey,Richard, how are you doing? Nice to see you about this madhouse.
You bro says you been musclin' up a bit--can you still fit in those fancy Buell leathers? I would be interested in them if so provided they fit my old frame,I run about 180 +/-.

Hey Jim!! Glad to be here, yeah I got addicted to the iron bug about 3-4 years ago, I love it!! I've been getting ready to race a Destroyer next year so I'm trying to keep the weight gain to somewhat of a minimum. RN
