Cool! I'm sure next year will have some new interesting entries. The 1000cc P-PP should be real interesting with the XB9R coming onto the scene.

Fireman Jim,

The bike looks fantastic, a most excellant job on it.

That front fender would be illegal at Maxton, tire has to be the most forward and rearward item on the bike.

How will the SCTA/BNI view it? I don't know, but bring a hacksaw with you just in case.

You're absolutely right on the rear, the tire has to be the rearmost item (unless the frame otherwise qualifies as Production, which his doesn't).

But with respect to the front, BNI and Maxton must be different, because the BNI rules actually say:

"Partial streamlining: The front wheel and tire must be visible from either side for 180 degrees of its circumference. Forward front fender coverage may not extend lower than a horizontal line through the front axle. There must be no streamlining forward of a line drawn vertically through the axle of the front wheel."

I suppose that last sentence could creatively be construed as saying the front fender tip can't protrude beyond the tire, but they clearly don't interpret it that way, you see it all the time, including the tech inspector's own bike that's pictured in the book ...

Aaron,

Does the USFRA accept checks or should we bring cash to change classes?? Getting down to the last little details now. Xr's are ready and Buell looks sort of mean and spartan. Sounds nasty and ready. That bike has always liked speed. Final tweaking this weekend, we are somewhat optimistic but the salt will tell.

Paul, that's great news, can't wait to see those bikes. Yeah, I believe they take checks, if memory serves. They might pull your record if the check bounces, though!

Final prep under way at the Team Galbraith Camp. The Triumph and Guzzi are DONE. One final thing to take care of on the WLA, a self closing throttle. Rigging up a return spring and twist grip tonight.

Will get some run in time on the Triumph engine on Sat.

Getting damned excited. Cant wait to see ya'll out on the Salt. We should be pulling in around 3pm on Thursday. Will come out to the pits and see if there is anything we can do to help with set up.

Court, Aaron

Thanks for checking for me. Three xr's running strong. Buell on one cylinder, weird problem maybe sensor. Better minds than mine are on it today. Picking up spare parts and final trailer loading this weekend. Should be out there late wed nite. Excitement is starting to build. Crowd here is really wound too tight, know the feeling Aaron??

Tat at ASB has been his usual helpful self. He sure does the Buell community proud. We generally do everything at the last minute as pressure fires the adrenalin pump.

Will anyone have an oil drain pan I can use up there and a way to dispose of or contain the old fluid?. I'll need to change the pig's lube juice for a successful journey back to Houston. It would be most appreciated.

Aaron mentioned:

Hey Aaron,

Wasn't the long course nearly due East before? I thought the course "nearly" paralleled I-80? If I'm not all screwed up, the wind (if there's any) will be coming at you then.

See ya in a few,

1 gallon, for the special construction classes. Fortunately it fits under the S2 bodywork, don't need no Honda's running for Team Elves! Can anyone tell me what the tank is off of? Maybe a generator? the lucky little gas tank, it has already gone faster than it ever dreamed possible

Aaron and Blake - What time are you two going to the airport? I can try to schedule around a ride. Thank you.
