BHR: "Top Gun" is one of Carl's bikes.

Tripper: So, we slap a fairing on it!

Buell Bros went 150 with an S2, in the 1350cc Production class which requires 100% stock external appearance. Stock appearing muffler & air cleaner & carb.

The MPS class allows any almost fairing you want. And no requirement for stock airbox or exhaust or carb. And in the class referenced above, you can go up to 1650cc.

That record is a sitting duck for a good Axtell 88 and reasonable fairing.

I don't have an Axtell 88...that would be Ron. I thought Aaron was tempting Ron. His S-2 has a fairing as well.

Although my Cycle-Rama 88 is pretty kick-•••...it won't do near the 500HP that Ron's has got!!!

(now don't anyone get all upset about my post. It's just a private joke between Ron and me)

Geesh, Peter, use your noggin. Down load the picture, scale the proportions and then calculate the length.

Dan,

I think its a toss up between Susan and Cil. How about you prep that X1 for next year and let Cil really wind it out?

Aaron,

Look cute, should be fun for Susan. I recall you posting that you used to prepare the race cars for her. Does she still have the steel in her veins?

Maybe we should just have Cil ride on the back with Susan to provide more traction!!

I need to reinject a little reality here too. While I am not able to post on the General board, I must let this fact be known about the LSR effort. I have every intention of watching ALL of the records last year fall. I will not be satisfied unless we DESTROY the ones we set last year. This is my mission, this is my promise. If you doubt it, buy some popcorn and pull up a seat, cause as we say here in the south, we're fixin to open up a can of whoop ass!!!!

164 run

This time slip shows what can be done, on gasoline, when we have our act together and have good conditions. Unfortunately, a vacuum leak was playing hell with the tuning and we couldn't back this up.

184 run

This was Richard's second run with the nitrous cranked up. On the first run he averaged 182.9 for the timed mile. On this run, he was into the bottle a little earlier, hence the 184 1/4 speed, but he ran out of nitrous before the end of the timed mile and got a 178 for that pass. The average was 180.8. That's moving right along with an old ironhead!
