Bought a well taken care of 07' Uly. About 19K miles.

Been used very little over the last couple of years. Bike always ran on non-ethanol.

Added fresh gas, new battery - started up, but ran pretty bad - i.e., sputtering, backfiring etc. - shut it down.

Re-set (my first time) the TPS to within recommended parameters - turns over, sounds solid, but not even close to firing up - just not getting fuel now, whereas before, at least it fired up/got fuel.

Software ran test on fuel pump - came back ok...

Any suggestions/thoughts to correct would be great.

Appreciate.

"Software ran test on fuel pump - came back ok..."

Does that mean you turned the pump on and off through ECMDroid or other tool?

Throttle position wouldn't make it run the way you describe, but bad or insufficient fuel would.

You might try (carefully!) disconnecting the fuel hose from the injector inlet and turn the bike on - see if you are getting fuel. Collect whatever comes out to see what it looks and smells like.

As far as the bike not working at all now - you may have fouled the plugs.

Evening.

Yes - I ran EcmSPY, and yes, it fired up/ran the fuel pump for a good 10 seconds (+/-)

Part I'm scratching my head on, is, at least prior to messing with the TPS, it at least caught, tried to catch, intermittently fired up, ran rough, but was doing something that I could relate to old gas/plugs. etc.

After re-setting the TPS, it does none of the above - just turn over/spinning the engine - not even close to catching/starting.

Definitely take you up on your suggestion regarding checking to see if I'm getting fuel, coupled with plug replacement.

Any additional insight/thoughts welcomed.

Appreciate.

An incorrect TPS setting may cause hard starting but is generally responsible for poor response and an unsteady idle speed. I agree with the others, a fuel pump that runs audibly may not be producing sufficient fuel pressure. This would cause hard starting, unstable running, missing, and misfiring.

The idle speed is so important on these bikes. Sometimes you can get it so it starts right up with a cold start but once it's warm it's too high and will hang at around 2000 rpm and then slowly drop to an idle. If it's set at 1050 it might or might not do this. Mine did. I set it at 950 to 1000 hot. This is great when warmed up but on a cold day it may not start at which point I have to just barely crack the throttle to get it to fire up. Also some folks do a cold TPS reset and it runs fine. Myself, I found a hot TPS reset made it run better. A cold reset would still allow it to start though so I'm not saying that's your problem, just something to consider once you do get it running.
So I think you're on the right track. Change the plugs, check your plug wires and pull a fuel injector out and run the test and see how it's flowing. You could have a weak pump or the internal filter could be plugged up. Let us know what you find.

Al input/posts received - thanks men - appreciate!

Trying to find some time to work on the Uly - as soon as I do, and try checking everything out, I'll report back for sure with the culprit(s).

Appreciate all the help/input.

Bye for now.

Told you I'd report back on progress with my 07 Uly - truth be told, (after trying several more attempts with the TPS) ended up bringing to my local Harley Dealer (5 minutes from my house - Brunswick HD - great folks!) - they said the timing was way off, (I know)coupled with fouled plugs. Running great now...all the best.

And how did the timing suddenly get "off"/ Bet it just fouled the plugs---hope they did not put the Sportster 6R plugs in---seen that a bunch---
