I mounted a set of Koso heated grips on my '06 Uly maybe 7 months ago,if I'm remembering the right bike (I've installed the Koso's on 3 different bikes) the tube had ridges that I had to file down so the heated grip would slide over the throttle tube. Please correct me on the ridge issue as it might be my V11 Sport Guzzi that I'm remembering the ridges on.At any rate it ended up too small for the grip and I wrapped friction tape around the tube and it went on tight, over time using a higher heat setting the grip started slipping slightly. Now that the days are getting hot it's slipping pretty bad.I pulled it off today and I had an S3 throttle tube but it was as small a diameter as the XB tube.If the XB tube does have ridges,I need to find another and make it fit properly. If it doesn't have ridges,I need to fine another way to make the tube tight.I'm open to ideas.

I just put new ProGrips on my '06 Uly and the tube was smooth. Can't help other than that. Sorry

Lew,that answers the ridge question,I honestly couldn't remember if it was the Uly or the V11 that had the ribs.

I did a search and found some good tips, the one I think I might try is putting 1" heat shrink on the throttle tube.I hope that will fill the gap.

I've seen double sided tape wrapped on the tube and then alcohol poured in the grip and on the tape to allow the grip to be installed. When the alcohol dries the tape sticks. I've never done this, just read it somewhere. My left grip came loose on me. I was using the "Heaterz" brand grips and they gave me some 2 part epoxy for the original installation. It lasted for 13 years!
