SO simply, as our belts get rarer as factory parts, has anyone tried or is using one of these...

I want a new belt for my rebuild here in the next few weeks, and doing some research between St Paul's belt reference guide and the internet, came across them. Its the first I have seen, so tell me what you all know, PLEASE!!

We have this discussion every few months. I've been told on several occasions that the non-buell part cannot handle the stress of the swingarm torque on the buell and will break with short mileage. I have not verified this myself. I recently replaced my 08xt belt at 40000 miles and used the OEM from St Paul. I think the difference is that the OEM belt is kevlar reinforced and the goodyear is not, but I dont' remember for sure.

I've had the Falcon "SPC" belt for 2 years. It fit fine and no problems so far. EBay special. I think the rider in many cases determines the belt life. Your mileage may very.......

About 10,000. I don't "pound" on it (often) but I do do a considerable amount of engine braking. It appears Goodyear made most of belts for Harley/Buell anyway. Tension is a major issue for carbon fiber belts (just like automotive timing belts). SPC=Special Purpose Carbon. These do NOT really stretch over their life or in the first 1000 miles of use. When they are forced to really "stretch", they break. If it's too tight you are guaranteed problems. So you check for this and make accommodations as necessary when it's installed.
