Is it just the taillight that's affected? I'd hunt for the loose wire first... |

You might be able to take it apart and clean up the contacts. The electronics are screwed onto the back of the switch.
![](http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/852466.jpg) If you remove these two screws you can take off the electrical part. I took it apart and cleaned up everything and put some dielectric grease on the contacts and reassembled. No problems since. |

I’m doubtful that the contacts are the culprit. There’s never been a solid feel to the switch. In comparison, my SS feels precise when I turn the key to run, off, or park. The Uly switch just feels mushy. I bought the bike with 20k, on it, so it’s possible that it was jimmied or damaged at some point. Keep those ideas coming. . |

I had the tail light issue develop at about 40k miles. Cleaning the electrical side remedied the problem. |

Sounds like cleaning it is the ticket. I'll give it a shot. |
