I am looking to purchase a left side wheel spacer for the three-bearing wheel (2010). Mine was lost during my latest tire swap. As embarrassing as this is, I'll come clean here if it means saving others the hassle. I didn't notice the missing spacer when reinstalling the wheel. This crushed the dust seal (new one en route). I don't know yet whether if the bearings and disc were also damaged but the wheel didn't spin when torqued down. This may be due to force on the bearings or disc (interference with caliper bracket) |

Court, I think he is talking about the spacer that goes on the outside of the hub. If they are hard to come by, someone should turn some on a lathe. |

The part number for the piece is G0620.5AK according to Twin Motorcycles' site. You can get it from them: https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp ?mc=1&aid=5152 I didn't find a listing for it at St. Paul HD/Buell's site, but I'd imagine they can get it. List price for it at another on-line dealer is ~$5. |

Ourdee is correct. I ordered part G0620.5AK from New Castle HD prior to appealing to the Badwebber community. Turns out New Castle didn't actually have any in stock. I will give Twin Motorcycles a shot though anticipate killer shipping being that they are in the Netherlands! (was trying to avoid this). Thanks. |

Break out the micrometer and post up a detailed drawing. My lathe probably won't be up for a few more years. |

They are around somewhere . . . . I doubt there is much on any of the 2010 Buells that wasn't sourced from some commercial supplier . . . the numbers just didn't warrant it. |

I'm just trying to think what it would be packaged with...wheel? Axle? Bearings? I honestly don't think I used anything different *outside* the wheel, when I switched from the 06 to the 10 wheel - bought an assembled wheel from Al, came with the new axle, pulled the old wheel and installed the new wheel and axle. I could be wrong. It's been years now. |

I think they were packaged with the new axle. |

Here's what came with the wheel . . .this may help with part numbers.

^ He said in an earlier post he tried to order it from New Castle but they didn’t stock it even though they had it listed on line. |

Good information. Thanks, everyone. Though, something is off. The parts illustration shared by Court shows a spacer on the rotor side only. My bike, which is an '06 with 2010 rear wheel conversion, has a spacer on both sides. Even the 2010 retro kit has one spacer: https://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp ?mc=1&aid=10973&cid=0&s=bearing&a=&aname=Buell_XB_ 912_3_bearing_wheel_retro_mounting_set The plot thickens. |

Yea there is only one spacer, which goes in on the rotor side. Nothing is needed on the pulley side. If you call or write to St Paul Harley, they may have the spacer but just not listed online. Even if they had to order it, it will be cheaper than shipping from Europe. |

Yea, there is no spacer on the sprocket side. The axle has a step that seats against the bearing on that side. The dust seal rides on the larger part of the axle. The spacer on the disk side provides a place for the dust seal to ride on that side. If you found a spacer on the sprocket side, that just means it’s in the wrong place. Move it to the other side and you’re good to go. |

^ ^ | Wow, Tootal. Care to elaborate? Anyway ... Hughlysses, Did the swingarm change in 2010 so that a spacer isn't needed on the pulley side? This is how the rotor side looks when it is installed without the spacer (crushed dust seal):
This is the pulley side with spacer removed. This is how the dust seal should look. I really don't want to crush it too:
The guy I bought the bike from did the 2010 wheel upgrade. I don't know everything that was changed. The 2006 shows no spacer on the pulley side as Hughlysses mentioned:

Swingarm didn't change. As I said, I (and many others here) simply bolted the new '10 wheel kit into earlier bikes with zero fitment issues. The axle does have a shoulder-stop (I just installed new tires, you'd think I'd remember this from all of 2 weeks ago...) on the tool-side/sprocket side. I do believe the only spacer is on the rotor side. Remove your wheel. Install JUST the axle, and you'll see the shoulder/step inside the swingarm once you torque it down. Put the spacer on the brake side and you'll see how it fits as well. You DO have a black-colored axle, right? Silver is for the 2 bearing wheel; black is for the 3 bearing wheel. |

Swanthog, that emoji is used on this forum only to mean we agree with the previous poster. Hugh and I are friends and are on here often. No disrespect is meant or understood. |

Tootal, Ah, thanks for the explanation. Haha. Yes, the axle is black. The guy I purchased my bike from included the old wheel and silver axle. He bought a 2010 wheel but it sounds like he didn't need to. Is this correct? I will stage the axle this evening as you suggested for verification. Thanks, again! |

I still have my original wheel and axle and bought the "10" wheel for preventative maintenance. What everyone is saying is correct, one spacer only. I know all my Harley's have two spacers but the Buell is different. I don't think you lost a spacer, I think you just assumed there was two because that's what you're used to. And don't worry, you're not the first to do this! Swap it around and go have some fun! |

If wheel rotated prior to tire change. It had all the correct parts installed correctly. If all of the same parts are used at reassembly and wheel does not operate correctly, there appears to be a problem with the reassembly. There are many very good contributors helping you. Trust. |

is it possible that previous owner installed the bearings and spacers wrong? My 2008 is running a 2010 wheel setup and it only has the one little spacer on the brake side. |

There were two spacers when removed but only the rotor side is necessary. On the pulley side, the axle itself is provides the mating surface to the bearing (fits inside the dust seal. It's an interesting design to say the least. It's all back together again and the TKC80's are ready for scrub-in: Please accept my hearty "thank you!" for all of your feedback |

I've got a sneaking suspicion I'm going to be glad I bought those thousands of dollars of leftover American Sport Bike Ulysses parts. There is some comfort in having at least one of about everything. |
