Twin Motorcycles has a crazy one today. Someone brought in an 08 Uly with a badly worn engine that turned out to be extensively modified.

This thing has a huge crankpin, custom rods, and plain (NOT roller) rod bearings. Somebody spent a ton on this thing but apparently it still wasn’t quite engineered correctly. See the link for a detailed breakdown.

Holy crap so much work.
Looks like it still didn't have enough pressure to float the rods though.
I love the extra primary bearing too.

I get the temptation to play around with things, but you have to bear in mind that Harley and Erik have spent over 100 years getting that engine to its present design. Whatever the shortcomings, it is unlikely one person will find the solution in one go around. It takes a lot of failures to get things figured out.
