Looking for some input. 09 XT 42,000 miles, rings are shot. Still starts and runs. Not really interested in doing it myself or paying someone. Might sell it but not sure about a fair asking price or where that might start...and I know, "its whatever someone is willing to pay."
Bike has normal wear and tear but overall pretty darn clean. Not looking to part out.

Thanks for any feedback! pic.

Yep, my front cylinder has had some piston slap since day one. Always used oil no matter what I put in it. Rear plug is perfect, front is all carboned up. I'm going to bore it with new oversize pistons and rings. A valve job while it's apart and it will be better than new. If you can't do the work yourself then find a local independent shop that builds Harley's. Check on their abilities at BBB etc. If there is nobody and you can pull it apart you could ship it all to some of our Badwebbers that could do that for you. Talk to Zack!

I'm wondering what symptoms it has, that led to your diagnosis?
I noticed that we are in the same area

Are you getting a lot of blow-by from the breathers?
I only ask because it might not be rings.
I saw some on here had bad valve guide seals that allowed dribbles into the port.
