Has anyone tried the Barnett stuff in an XB?
They always worked well in my Nortons but were a disaster in the Moto Guzzis with the friction material actually getting ripped off.
Feedback wanted!

When I fryed my clutch, I was trying to decide between the Barnett and energy one. Energy one was a few bucks cheaper and I couldn't find any bad reviews on them so that's what I got. 'Extra plate kit' just eliminates the judder plate and spring. I also put in the lighter diaphragm spring plate while I had it apart for easier lever pull.

It had amazing lock-up for a good while. Lots of abuse and It's still good enough, just not brand new amazing.

Iíve replaced mine with a Barnett, so far so good. Smooth engaging, and no slipping. 15.000km since replacing, time will show how it goes.

Top speed has now decreased to 75 MPH so time to park it before I'm dead on the side of the road.
Barnett clutch on order, nearly got 115,000 miles out of the original so I guess I can't complain very much even though I want to.

There's a thread or two about it, one of which is linked in this one:

If you do a google search on Buell Useless they pop up. The new goal is 200,000; it should do it with enough persuasion from the Magic Hammer.

I think everything that failed you improved so as long as the bottom end holds up I think you can make it!

A new clutch should make it reach the goal a bit faster. Has the road iced up? No...

I agree with the bottom end, no clanking or rod throwing to date. The rest of it is just perseverance and masochism, ha, ha.

The motorcycle is basically a sound design with a few aggravating quirks thrown into the mix. From what I can see once every 50-60,000 miles drop the motor to give it some TLC and off you go.

114,700 miles, Barnett clutch installed and so far, so good. I didn't realize how much the old one was slipping until the Barnett was stuck in.
