The XB air filter design is unique, so its not like you can grab one at Autozone from a Mustang or something.

Uni makes an air filter for our bikes, $35 at JCWhitney

Been running a uni for 2 years now and have been happy with it. Everyone has opinions but Briggs n Stratton can't be all wrong with foam air cleaners on their line of products. Go by directions on cleaning and use proper oil. On other side , I'm not pouring the mileage on like some of you guys.

120.00 usd? That's unreal. Most of us stateside don't even think of costs elsewhere. A while back, Hunger was buying some parts, and it was gonna be a ridiculous sum. Best wishes on buell, especially if you need something substantial for your bike!

Thanks Sagehawk, owning a Buell is an act of faith... but we have a strong community down here fulfilled with deep fans of the brand (BuellBR at Facebook) which help each other as much as possible to keep them pristine. Also everything bike related is quite expensive down here, any brand.

I've read somewhere (here?) that, while not as good as a new element, a dirty one can be washed.

lifted from google search:
motorcycle - How to Clean a Paper Air Filter -
http://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/173/how-to-clean-a-paper-air-filter

It takes time.
1.Put the air-filter for 3-4 hour in detergent solution in a bucket & you can see a huge amount of dirt & dust in the bottom of bucket.
2.Now open the tap & just allow to pass fresh water into it *(from clean side of filter)& make sure that no detergent remains.
3.Never try to wash it by brush or anything. ...
4.Allow to to dry completely.

*I added this.

Maybe an idea: kindly ask here on this forum, maybe someone from US can buy the air filter from here: https://shop.newcastlehd.com/part/p021302a8 and then ship it to you to Brazil. You cannot buy it from here, because HD does not permit US dealers to sell outside US.

Thanks everybody. Will check about cleaning a paper one. Dan, main problem is that Brazilian Customs is insane, they are screening everything and put taxes of 100% plus fine and the freight will kill the advantage of buying in US. I find K&N filter from another Bueller guy on the facebook group for 85 bucks and will get one from him.

I find no problems in running the K&N. Been in mine for 35,000 miles with no issue.
Don't forget the cleaning/oiling kit.
They don't work right without the pink oil.
