Voltage Regulator crapped the bed. Want to replace the stock shunt regulator with a Cycle Electric rectifying regulator. However, their chart ends at the 2007 XB12 and then jumps forward to the 2009 1125s. Thoughts?

The reason for the difference is that 03-07 XBs use a 3 phase 38 amp charging system, whereas the 08-10 XB use a single phase, 30 amp system. Like others, I upgraded the Shindengen type voltage regulator, and haven't looked back. I got my VR from Rick's motorsports.

Yep two entirely different charging systems between those two years.

I'm not sure if he has any left, but American Sport Bike has (had?) them in stock. Failing that, your local Buell dealer can order another stock one up, they are easy to install and plug and play.

I also went Shindengen. More "normal" type of VR, used on many different brands...and very readily available. Once you convert your bikes plugs and connectors...a swap / replace (IF it ever dies - which I doubt it will) would be easy.

Plus the Shindengen works with both two wire and three wire stators so you can swap it from one bike to another.
