Getting pulsing on 2010 Uly with 13,000 miles. Forums suggest EBR 6mm rotor. does anyone know where you can get one now at a reasonable price?

thanks!

If it is still possible to get one, this is probably the only place you will find it.

Here is what I got (a LONG time ago... 2010/05/10). I'm sure the prices are FAR higher now, and who knows if the part numbers are the same.

Decals optional. : )

Oh, and yes, it was the fix that finally fixed it for me. I get a little pulsing from deposits from time to time with the lyndall gold pads, but not terrible like it was.

When those pads die I'll switch to a more aggressive pad.

If you can't find a rotor; don't want to spring for a new one; or don't want to throw out perfectly good hardware with plenty of miles left, then some fine sandpaper and a bit of elbow grease oughta take care of the pulsing. Just make sure you get all the way around the friction surfaces of both the outside and inside of the rotor. Shouldn't take more than 15 mins.

What you can't see (on the rotor) WILL create pulsing ...

Sanding didn't work for me.

My brakes pulsed for a while on my XT. Then I realized I was holding the bike at lights with the front brake. I quit doing that. Then used the front brake from 70 to 5 mph hard about 6 or 7 times. At 5 miles per hour I would ease up on the front brake while rolling/finishing the stop with just the rear applied. It's magic; no more pulsing. My theory is that I heated and smoothed the buildup out on the disc.I am now running ceramic pads from Sixity on the my Scg. You may not need a new disc.

With the extra weight and capacity rating of the Uly, with more weight to stop the brakes are able to generate increased heat.

Mine pulsed terribly. I changed pads, sanded it multiple times, cleaned it frequently, break in procedures from different sources, nothing fixed it until I changed the rotor.

If you can find the rotor upgrade kit.
The installation of that alone will reduce pulsing at least 98%.
It worked for me anyway...

Found this on the EBR site, it's what I ordered for my '06 Ulysses, from EBR 2 years ago.

I also did the Ourdee procedure. Then quit using Buell and Lyndall pads...switched to EBC. problem solved.

EBC (FA345HH) worked for me. Cleaned up the rotor with fine sand paper, and put on these pads. No irregular braking procedures, just ride and brake with no more problems.
The pulsing feels like a warped rotor, but is most likely deposits from stock pads.
