Has anyone tried highway pegs on the uly. I'm wondering how that would feel. Also is there anywhere I could get them in the U.S.? | ||

Thanks Tootal. How does that work with the comfort kit? I assume just some Dremel work on the front. How does the framework attach towards the back? | ||

I don't have them, just knew about them and have considered them. As far as installation I can't help you there. I did a search a saw a few threads on these so you might try that. | ||

I am only aware of one source of highway pegs for the Uly and they are made in the UK. I have a set and I’m pleased with the purchase. I’m no spring chicken and cramp up fairly quickly (especially knees). Being able to change my seating position really makes the ride something to enjoy rather than something to endure. Basically, the pegs just give me an alternate seating position that allows me to stretch out periodically. In hot weather, another benefit of the pegs is that air will blow up your pant legs providing a bit more cooling. I expect you will have to cut a slot in the right scoop to allow mounting of the right vertical strut but that isn’t a big deal. I have an XP that is configured a bit differently (siren mount) and fabricated another small bracket that allowed me to install without cutting the scoop. The kit is well designed, complete and easy to install but I had to tweak things a bit to get it to fit. I attribute that to my bike being an XP or the fact that I’m really fussy. You may be able to find the installation instructions on Palmer’s site or by contacting them. For comfort, I’ve also installed a Corbin seat, Palmer tall windshield, bar risers, and Memphis Shades wind deflectors. I don’t regret any of these mods but it could be the Corbin was the least effective for me. At least I found that on ebay… If you want a set of Palmer Pegs, order weeks before you need them as they are made to order and ship from the UK. They come up occasionally for sale on this site but don’t hold your breath. Maybe someone here has a set they are willing to sell. |
