Thinking of trying out a set of Rox Risers.
Was wondering if anyone here who has them
could tell me if it blocks seeing anything on
the dash? I imagine it's different for different
size riders but would like to hear about it.

for me it does block the view of the odometer. can see speedo fine..

Thanks, I use the odometer to figure my gas
stops. How about the warning lights? Oil, check engine and if I can't see the odometer the low fuel light.

It's actually the clutch cable blocking the trip meter, the warning indicators are easy to see above the crossbar .

I've had mine for 6 years and love them. Nothing is blocked. I strongly recommend them.

They have a ton of adjustment, so there are probably ways yo could install them so they do and don't block depending on your preference. They don't block anything worse than the stock cable already did on my Uly.

They are stupid tough too. I did a stoppie into a corolla. Crushed the mirrors, GPS, smashed the bars into the airbox. Rox risers had "stress marks" in the aluminum, but were intact and continue to work fine.

Thanks. I'll give them a try. I have a 2009 so the clutch cable doesn't block the dash now.

Had mine for bout 3 years now. I ride with bars set back, rolled down slightly. My husky 250 xc was set up this way. Just seems natural to me. Buell tank bag is another matter. Pulled it off after being on one ride. Made a uturn after picking wrong road, wondered what that freaking noise out of motor was. Handlebar was at full lock and tank bag had starter button depressed. Live and learn I guess. With my setup, fueling the bike up is tricky. Turn bars so far and pick happy point to get nozzle in filler neck. Original or otherwise, have always had sniggling issues to make things work. Love the riding position in spite of little things.

I had two inch rox risers, when i turned right full lock it would open the throttle body. I tried to reroute the throttle cable could it would not work. I think 1" would be better.

I have some black ones, that came with my bike but I don't think they were ever used. If you want to save a few bucks off new let me know.

I'm looking at the two inch risers model#
3R-P2SSM. These are the ones that are recommended for the Ulysses.
Has anyone other than Advoutlander had problems with the throttle?

I have the 2" Rox risers on my 09 Uly and I had to reroute the throttle cables & the brake hose more to the back side of the tripple trees and all is well after 67,000 miles.

I read other people that had the same problems as me. My friend and I tried to reroute them but on full right lock it kept opening the throttle.

I had them on for a little while before I noticed the problem. They were very nice though, I'm going to get some 1inch risers.

I have the 2" set. They work fine but I did have to screw around a bit to get them to work without affecting the throttle. Don't remember exactly but it seems I had to run the throttle cables away from the bars a bit and add a loose tie strap to keep the cable from being smashed between the frame and forks. I don't ride as much as others here but I have not had any problems and the bike is much more comfortable to me.

I tried the 2" Rox Risers when I first got my Uly, but no amount of fiddling and re-routing the cables gave enough slack on my bike, so I went with regular 1" riser blocks.

However -- this spring, I introduced a hole on the left side of the triple tree to match the clutch cable hole on the right side. I routed the throttle cables through the new hole, and managed to eke enough cable slack for the Rox Risers.

To make the throttle cable hole, I removed the instrument cluster and the handlebar, then drilled two holes side by side (making sure not to interfere with any ribbing on bottom side). I then used a file to merge the holes into an oval, and chamfered the edges.

It would've been a lot easier and a bit prettier if I'd done this with the triple tree off the bike.

I got the idea from someone else doing the same thing, on either Badweb or BuellXB, but I cannot find the link to share.
