Can anybody share the stock 2006 Ulysses maps? Is there any place/site when you can download stock maps?

I think there are other websites where that information (along with service manuals) is freely shared.
why would you need/want the stock maps? MPG?

07 stock map here, it is very similar - http://www.primenumbers.org/buell/xb12.html

I've seen the stock 06 maps somewhere on here before, I'll find them

Nillaice,

No, I'm having weird RPM fluctuations and by the smell and choking bike seems to run on too rich fuel-air mixture. I'm trying to diagnose plus I know mine has non-stock maps so it's worth to try. See the thread, maybe you can help:

I have a stock '06 EPROM for xb12.
Just need email address.

NOTE:
A RACE EPROM will not work, at all, in a non race ECM.
Don't ask me how I know...

Given what the bike was doing in the video I would say this is a classic case of a incorrectly set TPS. Re-set it again. Even with a PERFECT TPS you will get slight rpm fluctuations and is normal for this bike.

The AFV (Adaptive Fuel Value) set points, in the ECM, are 60 low and 150 high. In perfect/ ideal conditions the AFV will be around 100. The AFV adjusts fueling, via the O2 sensor, over the fuel map making the fuel charge more/ less due to changing conditions. 100 is the equivalent of zero and no changes over the map are needed. The AFV can only work once the O2 sensor is around 120 C plus as it is not (in-built) heated. This is why if you re-set the AFV you have to ride the bike to get it up to temperature for the O2 sensor to work which will then allow the AFV to work.

For the present forget all this AFV, EGO Correction, WOT etc stuff as it is not relevant. So what is ok. The pump starts right IE It ramps up to pressurize the system and then turns off until needed. The static pressure is 49 psi and you can test that with ECM-SPY/ TunerPro. The pre-start battery charge was very low at 12.2 v. You need to keep it as high as you can and even 0.5 v will help starting a HELL OF A LOT on this bike.

"There's actually one thing I did not mention. I had the exhaust replaced with Stealth exhaust". These UK made, and have one on my 10 bike, exhausts are the best you can buy at any money. But while the 10 bikes DDFI-3 ECM can cope with it I doubt a 06 bike can without a fueler or a significant fuel re-map as a 06 bike run very lean from the factory to start with. And did you turn off the OEM can control?

You can not just "slap on a can" to a car/ bike without considering its fueling needs. It is not, mostly, a "plug-an-play" play thing and needs more than that to get right.

I'm digging this out. Teeps, EEPROM I got from you doesn't work unfortunately. The ECMSpy says it's not a valid EEPROM for this ECM.

Actually I don't need the whole EEPROM, only fuel/ignition maps will do. A file such as:
http://www.primenumbers.org/buell/2007_Fuel_Map_st ock_9-8-07-311630.msq
but this one is for 2007 while I need the 2006.

Can anybody share? Anybody has it burned on his bike and can download them for me? I'd be grateful.

Hey Hunger,
I can try it if you PM me an email.
No guarantee, but they are the files I pulled from my stock '06 ECU using ECMSpy.

I cannot send attachments via PM function on BadWeb.
I was briefly in Krakow last December when my flight to Rzeszow got diverted at the last second!

Is your ECU a stock unit or something else?
In theory my files shouldn't be different than TEEPS' per his description.

The ECMSpy says it's not a valid EEPROM for this ECM.

Then I'm guessing you have a race(?) ECM; as I have loaded that EEPROM in a street '05 and '06 ECM without problem.

What is the part number on your bike's ECM?

Thanks, Arctickm. I've sent you my mail via PM.

So they dropped you in a right place!

It's Y0152.3AB, firmware is BUEIB310. It's not the race ECM. Just tried to burn your file again and it keeps saying it doesn't match the ECM. It swallows the maps from http://www.primenumbers.org/buell/xb12.html without complaint.

Hunger,
When you open the EEProm file I gave you in ECM spy
what is the firmware id?

Also BUEIB310, however the "Calibration ID" is "50: US" while on 2007 it's "55: US". I haven't figured out what the calibration ID is yet.

Hunger, just sent you the EEPROM and maps I pulled from a 2006 XB12 ECM that I have also run on my '06 Uly for plenty of time with no trouble.
Sent you an Excel of the stock maps too, just in case you want to try to brute force change you maps to stock with ECMSpy.
I'm back to my EBR unit now, but with active muffler control turned on via ECMSpy (despite the doom and gloom warnings not to ever even say "ECMSpy" near an EBR ECM).
Not much riding since then due to school and weather.

You bet! Today we had the first heavy snowfall so the end of season it is. At least I had a chance to test my bike.

I've actually managed to burn the maps from Teeps. I loaded the EEPROM to ECMSpy and burned maps only... and it worked. Why hadn't I thought of this before? I'm dumb. Anyway it seems that's it. With 2007 maps I had the correct idle speed at 3.9% open throttle and it was lower (like <1000) until the engine warmed up. With 2006 maps I get the right idle at about 6.7% and it keeps ~1100 RPM no matter the conditions, cold/hot, it doesn't matter. Maybe 6.7% is a bit to high but generally, small change in this lowest row of the map makes a visible difference.

I'm wondering is 2007 airbox that much distinct from 2006?

And no, as I said I don't have race ECM. I've only managed to get my bike back to order and I wanted to have a completely stock configuration to see how it behaves before I *possibly* start doing any mods. And it looks like it behaves well.

Anyway, thanks for trouble guys and for the maps.

Just cut some holes in the upper housing and it will be like an 07. I'm running the "swiss cheese" air box lid and 07 maps.

Like this? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/477578.jpg

Looks a bit creepy ; )

Mine's only got a few vertical cuts on the rights side. But I guess that's stock.

That's correct. I used a bigger hole saw and fewer holes but what you see is functional.
