Hi,

When i start up the engine is stable around 1000revs When the engine is hot it goes up close to 2000revs, the bike is using the stock ec, air filter and exhaust, the exhaust is blocked in the open position as the servo was taken out.
It's a uly 2006.
Any way to solve this?

Thanks.

Yeah and it's pretty damn simple.
Just turn down the idle speed with the screw.
Prior to 2008, The computer has no control over the intake of air. When the temps start to increase, so will the idle speed.

I suggest warming it up and then adjusting it to just about 950-1000. Any lower and it will become harder to start when cold.

Just had the exact same issue. Let the engine get COMPLETELY warm up to operating temperature and then turn it off.

Back the idle screw all the way out until it no longer makes contact.

Do a TPS reset while the engine is still hot.

Then screw the idle adjuster back in and adjust idle to ~1100 (1050-1150) RPM.

If this does not resolve the issue then look for an intake leak.

If your idle speed is above 1050 by any amount it can cause the idle to "hang" at 2000+ for a few seconds to where it will come down to 1500 or so to hang there.

I had to mess with mine to get it to set at 1025 or so to idle properly when warm and to allow a good cold start up.

Also if you get in there, clean the edges of the throttle plate, I found that they build up with carbon causing changes in the idle performance.
