That is a link to the White House petition to legalize lane splitting in all 50 states. Since state and local laws are what ultimately govern traffic laws, I don't see how any federal legislation could be passed that would make this happen; but at least we can make our voices heard and perhaps at least get some momentum going on the issue. I'm signature #7,082.

Perhaps if we can convince them of all of the particulates and green house gasses we can curtail by filtering through traffic we can get an executive order to permit lane splitting.

I signed it, my alter ego at work signed it and so did my lovely wife, although honestly if I split lanes with her on the back I'd probably get rapped on the helmet for my trouble... ; )
